We booked this hotel right at the very last minute - in the afternoon of the day we first wanted to stay. They couldn't fit us in for the full 5 nights we'd have ideally wanted, but gave us 2, which they amended to 3 after we'd checked in and they'd had another look at their reservations. We were badly in need of a rest after a tiring 10 days of driving an old car through Europe, and the Hermitage Hotel was absolutely the perfect place for it. We had a standard room, which was nonetheless very pleasant and nicely furnished, with fabulous views away from the sea, but over valleys and mountains off into the distance. In fact, I think the views to the back are better than the sea view to the front.
The hotel has a small but shady garden, with a variety of extremely comfortable seats which just beg you to curl up with a book and a long cool drink. The swimming pool is small and very cold - but perfect for a quick cooling dip after a hot day.
The food in the restaurant was also excellent. Not cheap, but the set menus were good value for money and the food was delicious.
Every single member of staff was unfailingly pleasant and helpful and we had the firm impression that they really wanted us to have a wonderful stay in their hotel.
The Eze Hermitage hotel was absolutely perfect for the relaxing few days we so badly needed, and I would unhesitatingly recommend it to anyone looking for a restful haven in this part of France.

We stayed at this lovely hotel for four nights in October. It is bright, modern and airy. Our room was a little on the small side (especially with a large four-poster bed in it!) but a large balcony (almost the same size as the room) was some compensation. The en-suite shower room was very stylish and well equipped. We ate twice in the hotel restaurant - the meals were very good and the service was excellent - friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated right on the Grand Corniche, with easy access from Nice. The village of Eze itself is a short drive away. We walked from the village down to Eze Bord de Mer on the very steep and precipitous Nietzche trail - and returned by bus - the stop is just outside the railway station. We'd recommend a drive along the Grand Corniche and a stop in La Turbie. The famous Roman monument is well worth a visit - especially for the amazing panoramic views of Monaco. But avoid Nice if you can - the roadworks for the new tram were even more disruptive than on our previous visit in Easter 2005.

Situated on the grande corniche high above the old village of Eze. An very good hotel with amazing gardens, views, pool and sitting areas. Very well designed with an immediate air of tranquillity. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The meals were varied and always to a high standard. The rooms were traditional with a modern twist.
Local transport by coach to Eze and Nice from nearby the hotel is available every hour. We also went to Monaco by train from Eze-sur-mer (5minutes) although the trip down to Eze-sur-mer takes approx 40 minutes but well worth it for the amazing views along the coastline for 1.5 euros.
Perhaps we should keep this hotel to ourselves.
