My family had a wonderful two week say at the Hotel des Mimosas. I want to start by giving you he background. Me, my wife and our 2.5 y/o and our six month old stayed in the bungalow for two full weeks and it served as our base during our visit to Cote d'Azur.
The bungalow has some nasty reviews online. It is important to note that it was renovated in early 2014 and must be much improved versus the prior reviews. We found the bungalow simple and charming. Two modest bedrooms, a bathroom in the middle. A/C runs strong and works well, and one room has a small refrigerator. Good water pressure and great hot water. The bungalow is not the Ritz Carlton, it is simple and shabby-chic in a very south of France kind of way. But if you're looking for good basic place to stay while you enjoy the region, this place fits the bill - especially with kids
On the kid friendliness, this is where the bungalow is awesome and the Hotel is not as accommodating. We were there in the last week of August and the first week of September. We are a small young American family, and the hotel is mostly patronized by older (and a few younger) Euros who are looking for a quiet place to relax and read - I get it. So we did not spend much time near the pool...My family had a wonderful two week say at the Hotel des Mimosas. I want to start by giving you he background. Here is where the bungalow is great, for small children it has its own little courtyard and patio for the kids to play. So if you've traveled with small kids and have that "I need to get out of this hotel room ASAP!" feeling in the morning, this was perfect for that. We could sit outside, let our oldest play, and slowly wake up to our coffee and croissants - which were provided by the hotel and were awesome. Also, many nights my wife and I wanted to go out and have a meal just the two of us. We were able to have a nanny come and stay with the kids for a few hours and it was all very convenient.
The Hotel staff was very pleasant and helpful. Professional, courteous ... pleasantly brought breakfast and coffee, did a good job cleaning the rooms, all valuables in tact, very kind to our children. All you can ask for.
All in all, our stay was great. The bungalow at the Hotel des Mimosas is a great value and for families traveling with small kids is the perfect base for taking in the Cote d'Azur. It also is a great value, that allowed us to spend more money on other things like meals, beaches, sailing, site-seeing, entertainment, etc. We would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone who wants a base camp in the Cote d'Azur.
