“Really loved the décor, atmosphere and kindness of the staff. Breakfast was a gn”

Hotel Le Pre Catelan

1 Feb 2008

From the very moment my wife, daughter and I stepped into the hotel for a one-night stay in January of this year, we knew we were going to love the experience. Everything, from the garden, to the bedroom, to the breakfast -room seemed to correspond to exactly what we had always looked for in a hotel - comfort, style, homely atmosphere, well-being. We can't speak highly enough of the place (we have had plenty of recent opportunities to compare this particular hotel with others of a similar category in Antibes, London, Paris and elsewhere) and I can truthfully say that Le Pré Catalan leaves the others way behind in terms of service, comfort and charm. The buffet-style breakfast was a real treat, catering for all tastes and appetites, and really was the icing on the cake of our all-too-short stay. The prices are very reasonable and the welcome at reception second to none.

We have no hesitations at all in recommending this hotel to anyone looking for that special "provençal" charm, and to prove it we will be returning there for a further (longer) stay at the beginning of March !

Hope I've convinced you !

Robert Bullock.

A lovely hotel, ideal location and just perfect for visiting the surrounding countryside. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated and the personnel were courteous and very helpful. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel and hope to return soon.

As a business traveler, I like to stay at this hotel apart from the downtown trafic of Nice or Cannes. It is absolutely well situated in Juan les Pins near the beach and restaurants, and you have a very quiet environment.
Charming to come with my wife as well, nice breakfast in the garden, old fashioned provence/riviera furniture and surroundings.

A fresh escape from day to day business stress.

I don't know the place in summer when family and pure tourists are common.

Beautiful from outside and absolutely terrible service and rooms. Our towels looked like they have never been washed, just ironed after the previous guest. The smell in our room was untolerable. We could hear the toilet water flush from other rooms all the time. There is no service at night and there is no phone available in the room. What would you do in case of emergency? The owner/manager is rude and angry if there is a problem.

Don't ask them to help you with the taxi: we saw two of their guests missing their flights because of their so called help.

Why stay there? There are plenty of excellent hotels in Juan Les Pins. If you do prefer a small hotel, go for the Bed and Breakfast near Pre Catalan. Unlike PreCatelan, the owners provide the best service and you will certainly want to come back.

Stayed here for a couple of days this month. It looks lovely from the outside but the pool, which is bascially in the carpark is no bigger than a large paddling pool. The rooms were clean and ok but having to drag all our luggage 3 flights of stairs as there is no lift was quite a pain. The service was ok but really I would say this is a B&B and not a hotel. The doors are all locked at 9pm and there is little atmosphere. The location is great, though it was quite hard to find - even the locals weren't sure where it was.
