Each time we book a hotel our first port of call is Tripadvisor. On looking at the La Malmaison the reviews were good as they had upgraded the hotel during the last year. We were not disappointed, the hotel was as described. Reception on our early arrival was very accomdating by taking our cases whilst we surveyed the area. The rooms were very spacious and the the bathroom first class, better than many French hotels. The breakfast was very good @11euros, all you can eat, which compared well with outside cafe/bars. The only slight drawback was that having booked 8 months in advanced for a room with balcony on a high floor we ended up with no balcony on lower floor. Hotel unable to change as it was full. Nice is a wonderful place to visit with easy access to Monaco and Cannes. The trains are just 10 minutes from the hotel as is the Playa de la Anglais.
Many of the restaurants are of Italian decent and therefore you have to seach for other more French foods. keep off the main areas and look for the side streets which have better restaurants and less expensive. Good tours on the open top bus but avoid eary and late rides due to traffic hold ups.
Nice is a place to return to, the Malmasion we would stay aging but would need definate confirmation on rooms at a higher level.

“comfortable and quite room”

La Malmaison Hotel

Stayed few nights on my own. Booked their delux room which was quite and comfortable. Useful fridge to keep the beer and water cold. Did not take their breakfast, so can not comment.

I just arrived back from the Hotel La Malmaison and could'nt fault it.
Location of the hotel is superb. Withing walking distance of everything. Hotel was very clean and staff were friendly and very helpful. A group of ten people travelled with me. We booked 5 rooms and even though we arrived very early, the hotel were able to provide us with 3 rooms and the last 2 about an hour later. The very friendly girl at the reception went through a map in detail of the surrounding area and gave great advise as to where to visit because it was only a two day trip.
I am already planning my next trip back !!!!

We have just returned from Nice. We first heard of the hotel by a friend who had previously stayed there. When we arrived, we were pleasently surprised that there was a mini fridge and two bottles of water complementary in our hotel room, which was a nice personal touch. The fridge came in handy to keep drinks cool and to keep fruit we bought fresh. The room was clean,a nice size, with high ceilings. It could clearly be seen that it had been recently refurbished. The air conditioning was refreshing in the heat. We stayed in the second flooor facing across to another hotel and had a small balcony. It was nice to go out there in the evenings, however there was always people across the way so there wasn't much privacy.
The hotel staff were very friendly and accomodating, eager to help if we wanted anything. The breakfast was a basic continental breakfast, consisting of fresh croissants, rolls, fruit, yogurt and cereal, but it helped sustain us until lunchtime. Hotel La Malmaison
is in a fairly central location. It is in walking distance to the main parts of the city, such as the old town. It is ten to fifteen minutes walk to the main shopping street of Jean de Medican and about seven minutes to the Promenade de Anglais. It was what we needed after a long day sightseeing or at the beach, as it was very comfortable. We are truly relaxed after our break in Nice. We would love to return to Nice and stay at Hotel La Malmaison again inthe future. We would definitely recommend Hotel La Malmaison to anyone thinking of Nice.

this hotel was okay. we paid 150 euros a night breakfast included. our room wasn't very clean. it had carpet stains, the mirror in the hall was dirty and no soap except for the last day. the towels were too small. i guess for 150 it wasn't bad. the breakfast was okay. nothing amazing. i have stayed at better hotels for 150. in the past i stayed at hotel massena. this hotel was better than hotel massena. i would stay again i guess, but i would look and see if i had better options for 150.
