“pleasant stay”

Minotel Little Palace

My stay in this hotel was comfortable and pleasant. It is very well situated, clean and for a French hotel, the rooms were spacious and not overheated. There were 8 of us staying here and no complaints from any of the group. I have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Good Deal!”

When I was searching for accomodations for my solo month-long trip to Europe, budget was a concern, but area and cleanliness were equally important.

The location is great - about a five minute walk from the train station, and the same to the beach and tonnes of restaurants. As a woman traveling alone, I felt completely safe in this area, and in fact throughout the city. The area closer to the train station is a bit dodgy, but nothing to worry about in my opinion.

I booked a single room for just me, but was upgraded when I arrived because the singles were booked. Woohoo!

The room was a corner room on the third floor facing the street. It was plenty quiet for this city girl. It was spacious, as was the bathroom. The room/bathroom were very clean (my top priority). The shower nozzle had a leak in it, but (thanks to over packing) I whipped out the duct tape and taped up the hole.

I didn't eat at the hotel due to other reviews about overpricing. Internet in the lobby was handy, but they stored it at night time as it was a laptop.

I would stay here again, but I would keep in mind that I felt lucky to get a double room for the price of a single...

“Modern, good value, good location”

Nice hotel, polite and helpful staff, very good value. The room was clean and modern, including an lcd screen cable tv.

My only complaints: the heavy scent of a citrus fragrance room deodorizer, which was not greatly alleviated by opening the window. Perhaps they were trying to mask the odor of cigarettes or cigars... there were (clean) ashtrays in the room. The towels felt like sandpaper.

In sum, the place is inexpensive, centrally located, very clean and convenient. I would recommend it overall.

    • Disliked — they really overdid the air freshener and the towels were extremely scratchy (ouch!)

Really like the Little Palace Hotel. As has been previously mentioned
it is midway between the train station and the promenade so has the best of both worlds. About 10 mins to the promenade so no problem at all. About 15 minutes walk into the old town but there are restaurants and shops along the way so the walk is fine. Overall a very good location for the price paid.

The room is small enough, don't expect a large room! but this seems to be the case with a lot of french hotels. There is very good air conditioning in the rooms which you can adjust yourself, TV (couple of English-language stations), hairdryer, iron on request, internet kiosk in the lobby. Supermarket just next door which is really handy.

Staff were pleasnat, no complaints. Overall, would recommend!

“Decent budget hotel, good location....”

I initially contacted the hotel through email direct. They were most helpful but requested that I send my card details via email to reserve (wasn't too keen to do that) so I ended up booking through venere.com which did the trick.

The hotel is good value at 80 euros a night for a bright, modern double bed room, with flat screen tv, air conditioning, double glazed (opening) bay windows onto a small balcony. We did not take the breakfast, which would have been convenient, but at 8 euros each seemed a bit surplus to requirement.

The location of the hotel is between the station and the Promenade des Anglais (ocean front) and is about 8 minutes walk from either point. Its about 15 minutes to the old town on foot. The area is definitely as safe as any city centre location could be, nicely away (but not too far) from the slightly more seedy station area.

The staff were discreet and helpful when needed in a typically gracious (if not slightly formal) French manner. If you need to iron your clothes, you must call reception to go down and collect an iron - perhaps a reflection of the cost of a room, but a small price to pay. Our room had a full bathroom with a tub and shower attachment, but unfortunately no shower curtain, which made showering interesting!

All in all, a good place to stay. Oh, and there's a supermarket right next door open until 7.30 most days. No minibar or fridge in the room though - worth bearing in mind.
