We booked Little Palace via Venere.com and it was a good experience.
Received relatively clear directions and found our way from the train station (after asking someone else!).
But! Once we were there (10 minute walk), it was fine. The first day there was no AC but it was promptly fixed the next day when we asked about it.
As mentioned elsewhere, there is no shower curtain but there is a bath rug and a floor drain.
The location is perfect (short) walk to the Promenade, the beach and the shops.
There was a flat screen tv which also tuned to radio stations, which was interesting.
The room was spacious enough and cleaned regularly. We appreciated the balcony.
We never did partake of the 8 Euro bfast but bought a baguette at the grocery store next door.
The staff was not rude but not overly friendly either.
Overall, I would stay at this hotel again and recommend it.

I stayed at Little Palace for a weekend in May in a single room. The room was spacious, quiet, very clean, and well kept. The bathroom was very clean too and everything was working fine. The location is good, on a road leading directly from the railway station to the famous seafront promenade, about half-way. Overall, the hotel offers great value and much more than you'd expect from a French two-star property. Didn't try the breakfast, which was 8 Euro but just had coffee and croissant at the next corner café.

I can't believe this was a 2 star hotel!!! we were here from April 18-22 in a triple room for 90 euros/night (booked on venere.com). the room and bathroom was really clean, only cnn on t.v. which was a flat screen, no AC, we didn't have the breakfeast. there is a market nextdoor which is very convienent, 5 min walk from train station! don't look any further...stay here!

This is the first hotel we booked through Venere website stating that we were on honeymoon and it pays! : )

At 55 Euros (before taxes) per night, we stayed from 28th February - 3rd March 2007. The hotel is charming with a modern interior complete with chandeliers. Generally speaking, the reception was friendly and welcoming though we could tell that the girls were new to the job. There was this charming middle aged lady whom I presumed was the owner who spoke basic English but nonethless hospitable. We were pleasantly suprised when they upgraded us to a triple room.

We are on the street side but the room was quiet. There was this inviting bathtub with handheld shower. The water pressure was good and consistent. Hot water hot, cold water cold. This is important as it was winter. Could do better with a shower curtain as it was easy to wet the bathroom.

There was no hot water kettle and mini fridge/bar.

Free wireless internet access if you have your own laptop but the connection was erratic. Apparently, we still need to go to the breakfast room to get connected as there was "limited or no connectivity" in our room. Disappointing but well at least we got like in total 2 hours of (interuppted) internet during our stay. : )

It's 10 mins to the Promenade, 15 mins to Old Town and 5-8 mins to the train station if you walk.

Not forgetting this man we saw in his mid-forties manning the hotel at certain times.. He's always not smiling. C'mon, loosen up you!

Overall, a pleasant stay! : )
