You can’t beat the location of this place. First of all, great views, and we were in a second floor standard room, not a superior; we felt at the perfect height above the water. Then, it’s near to everything: the old town, the port, the sea. We thought the hotel was very attractive, and while the rooms were very small, they were nicely done, we thought, and comfortable, that is, if you get the room with a decent closet. We did, but the couple we were traveling with barely had room for a couple of hangers and then no shelves or dresser: not good. They were living out of a suitcase for 3 days. The beds were really comfortable and the bathroom very nice with all the amenities we like. We thought the staff were quite pleasant and accommodating. However, when the wifi kept disconnecting and a “manager” came up to help us, I would say he was seemingly helpful, but less than forthcoming that this was a problem with the hotel’s wifi. (He brought his laptop upstairs and showed us how it was connecting when my ipad wasn’t.) It was only when I pushed him that he kind of acknowledged that the hotel’s wifi couldn’t always accommodate the number of users, and I continued to have difficulty connecting after that. I do think this is an inexcusable problem, which I notice others have complained about in these reviews, and yet they have taken no steps to acknowledge it, much less fix it. It’s a shame and the staff’s evasiveness about it made it worse. We didn’t try the breakfast, as we generally think it’s silly to spend 15 euros on a hotel breakfast, when around the corner in a café on the Cours Saleya you could get a full breakfast (eggs, etc.) for less than half of that. Also be prepared to pay to park in a city parking lot (we were) and pay 50 euros for 3 days, if you go to the lot desk when you park and ask for the 3-day deal. The hotel recommended a nice restaurant our first night which we appreciated, but when we found a great place that was just starting out about a 20-minute walk away (La Table de Trois, not to be missed!), they didn’t seem that interested in our feedback about a place not already on their list.
Second floor has a fine view, but watch out for the size of the room and ask about closet space.
