4 of us stayed here (2 couples, average age 50). We stayed 2 nights on the outward part of our cycle trip and one night on the way back. We were all delighted - the place is superbly located, the rooms were spotlesslly clean, with crisp white cotton sheets. No air con, but the rooms have powerful new portable fans. Bathrooms v. small, but good shower and nice clean new sink, loo and tiles.

We didnt have any noise problems at all - in fact it was extremely quiet externally; and we didnt notice any noise from adjacent rooms either (although our friends were in one adjacent room, and I dont know if the other adjacent room was occupied).

The Hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - We were travelling with 4 bicycles (getting them up the stairs was interesting!) and they went out of their way to help - they even helped carry the bikes upstairs for us and allowed us to store the bulky bikes bags/packaging for the 2 weeks until we returned. As Easyjet had damaged one of the bikes quite badly, the staff did internet searches for us and rang around to find the nearest places to get it repaired, printed off a list and even maps of how to get there while were out having dinner and left all the infomation under the room door for us. As a result we got the bilke repaired within half an hour the next day and continued with our trip. They also allowed us to securely store our bikes up in the hotel when we were there, so we had peace of mind.

We would definitely stay here next time we visit Nice, the location is truly superb, the staff are excellent, and the prices amazing. It has no restaurant but there are a lot of cafes for breakfast just a few yards away.

Honestly guys, if you don't want to break the bank this is where you should stay. It's a short (5 mins) walk to the beach and a walk to Old Town for all the restaurants. It's inexpensive and quite possibly the cutest and most intimate hotel I've been to so far. The rooms offer the basic... a bed to sleep in and a shower. The staff is really friendly and will go out of their way to help you. Travelers with heavy suitcases beware- there are 2 flights of stairs to climb before you get to the front desk.

This is an awesome hotel situated right in the centre of Nice yet you wouldn't know it as it's in a nice quiet courtyard of it's own. You basically have to walk through another building first then over a little bridge to get into the hotel Rex building. It's in a lovely courtyard with purple flowers growing up the walls. As it's in the courtyard it's also nice and cool all day. It's 2 mins away from the beach and 1 min away from the main square (y'know, the one with the big tick and the fountain).

The room was excellent, very nicely decorated and quite spacious. We had a very tasteful ragrolled effect room with traditional french furniture, lamps, lighting, wardrobe etc. The bed could have done with a valance round it as it was quite grubby on the base itself but apart from that the room was faultless.
Bathroom was decent enough with a working shower.

The staff were really nice and helpful and friendly and the reception area also nice and quaint.
There is no restuarant in the hotel but with so many facilities on the doorstep this isn't an issue. We just walked 2 minutes to the old town and ate there every night.

The only negative I can think of is there were a couple of guys who made a lot of noise working outside in the courtyard both mornings, from about 7am onwards. They weren't hotel staff, I think they were staff of an adjacent restuarant or something.

I would highly recommend this hotel. It had lots of character and was only £50 a night. I doubt you'll find a better hotel in Nice at this price. I'll be stopping there again.

I stayed for the second time in this quaint, friendly and very well-located little hotel. It is under new ownership and the new owners seem intent on offering the same friendly level of service as in the past. Location is excellent. Owner and family are very friendly and helpful.
