My husband and I stayed in the Green Room for three nights from September 25 to the 28th. We had chosen this B & B based on Trip Advisor reviews, and it was a welcome start to our 3 weeks plus in France and Belgium.
We found the Green Room to be of generous size for Europe, more than adequate for us and our 3 suitcases. It's a clean, bright room that enhanced the sunny weather we had the pleasure of enjoying during our stay. The bathroom was ensuite with a soaker tub and good shower. It looks as though a tradition of leaving the small grooming amenities (and some larger ones as well) provided by mainstream hotels was in place - a good move if you ask me. For us, the less stuff and liquids we have at the end of a trip, the better; it eases packing stress. Plus, you get to try out all sorts of stuff.
Breakfast was generous and provided an opportunity to discuss plans for the day with a woman who knows her adopted city well. Her much appreciated advice started even before this as well as we opted to use the bus from the airport and used her good detailed instructions. That said, we also used Google Street-View prior to leaving home in conjunction with her instructions, so we would feel comfortable with this choice. The worst thing that happened was that getting the the three suitcases to our chosen seat, and getting settled with tickets etc.was a little wild. But we made it!
Regarding location, as noted in lots of other reviews, the Villa is north of the main touristy parts of town, and there is a walk to the tram, but it's not so very far. A word to the wise: when you buy your tickets at the tram station, turn the knob to select your ticket option and push twice to select. Also on the transit front, the tabacs in the beach area don't sell the tickets.
We believe the Villa L'Aimee provides very good value, and should the opportunity to visit Nice present itself again, we would chose this place once more. Thank you for all your help, Toni!
