“On a scale of 1-10, this one is a 20!”

Every superlative written about this place is true!! We got reasonable rates for the third week of September and felt blissed out to spend two nights here--our vacation from our moving around, seeing the sights vacation. Vista Palace is a WOW on every scale. The staff could not be friendlier or more accommodating and will drive you to Monaco for dinner. Instead, we accepted their ride to the ancient citadel of Roquebrune for dinner in the open air at the restaurant facing Les Deux Freres, which was closed, and had one of the most atmospherful and enjoyable, simply prepared, delicious meals of our 16 day trip. Food at Vista Palace is very pricey. Top of the line romantic destination.

“Best hotel ever...breathtaking views!”

My husband and I stayed two nights at the Hotel Vista Palace in mid May 2007 after reading in Frommers that it is the “most romantic” place to stay in on the Riviera; we were not disappointed. This recently refurbished hotel is a peaceful retreat cantilevered out from a cliff above the bustling town of Monaco.

We asked for and received the best room in the hotel on the top floor with 270 degree panoramic views up and down the coast (at a special reduced rate offered by the hotel over the internet). It was almost as if we were in a helicopter hovering over the town. We were mesmerized watching the yachts coming in and out of the harbor during the day and the lights coming on at night.

The hotel’s dining room and swimming pool have equally spectacular views. Originally we were only going to eat only one night in the hotel’s Le Vistaero restaurant, but the food was so delicious and beautifully served that we returned there the second night. Breakfast buffet in the hotel’s Corniche restaurant was also excellent. Just taking the glassed in elevator down to breakfast was a treat.

If you would like to take a short walk, the hotel has beautiful terraced gardens connected by steps going steeply downhill until you reach a precipice overlook with a vertical drop to the town below.

For those who want to go into Monte Carlo, the hotel provides free hourly transportation (about 20 minutes into town). If you arrive by train, arrange with the hotel ahead of time to be picked up at the station because it is very difficult to find a taxi.

Oh my god, this hotel is amazing, the view from our room was fantastic. I will be booking this hotel again in the near future.
I was very impressed, the positives were: not far from monte carlo, food in the hotel was great, and staff were very friendly. There are no negatives about this place.

Stayed here for two days in late june while touring the French Riveria. Nothing was too much trouble for this staff in this hotel. From the outside it doesn't cast much of an impression, but the best is yet to come. What it lacks in curb appeal it makes up for in views, the attention to detail has definetly been lavished on the right side of this hotel!.

From check in to check out the experience was a delight. As a seasoned traveller I tend to be critical but couldn't fault the staff in this hotel.

At check in our bags were looked after, the car was valet parked and we were given a tour of the hotel. We were delighted to find we had been upgraded to a suite (room 205). The room was HUGE, very well equipped with panoramic views out over the Cap and out to sea, amazing. The facilities in the room were great, all electrics, including the curtins!!!

We had breakfast in the hotel (included in our rate) on both days and it was faultless, the food matches the views in this estabishment. Dinner one night was a BBQ and it was great, wine was a litle rationed but that's not unusual in all you can eat type of night. The pool is very nice, is a little exposed to the elements and tends to get a cross wind but in the heat of the french summer I imaine this is quite cooling.

There is a shuttle bus on the hour bringing you to Monaco which is only a 10 minute drive away. One word of advise, reserve your place on this early. The most popular times fill up fast and there is only one bus every hour, one going down to Monaco and then returning. If you have a car the drive is very quick and parking is surprisingly cheap in the many underground car parks in the city.

If you can drag yourself away from this hotel haven you MUST see the Casino square at night., We were there in a Friday night and it was amazing to people watch, the great and the good. The most interesting thing about most of the people in Monaco is their bank balances but its still an expereince to watch them all.

Overall I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. I know I will return. I you can get room 205 the views are special. ENJOY

“Beautiful Hotel and Great Service”

This is a great hotel. We booked it through American Express and from check-in through check-out the service was impeccable. The hotel sits on a vista and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea and Monaco. We were graciously upgraded to a suite with its own small pool. What a delightful surprise! The room was a bit dated but comfortable and large. The views are spectacular as was having our own private pool. The service overall was very warm and friendly. We dined in the hotel restaurant and once again had great, friendly service as well as fantastic food. I would highly recommend this hotel if you're traveling to the south of France.
