We stayed here with friends for 3 nights. Yes, its very quaint and yes, the staff were nice but, because of not having any outdoor facilities (a terrace to sit and read would be nice), you actually feel rather like you're in a prison; although one which offers free Madeleines from 2pm onwards.
The Epicurian Dinner menu was good for a special occasion and the staff were very attentive; at these prices they should be.
The village of St Paul is inundated with coach loads of tourists from 10am onwards and this doesn't let-up until around 6pm so sharpen those elbows if you want to get to and from the hotel at a reasonable pace.
If you are hiring a car to get to the hotel, choose a smallish one as the people carrier we hired just managed to inch its way between the narrow ramparts to get to the hotels car park. The car park is about 200 yards away.
I would not recommend either the village or the hotel if you have mobility problems.
