This is a well run B&B hotel in La Colle Sur Loupe, a sort of spacious dormitory suburb a few km inland from Nice. The hotel is managed by a helpful father and son team. Most rooms have a good view from their balconies over the valley to the picturesque hill village of St Paul de Vence, which is just 10 minutes drive away. Breakfast is simple cereal and croissants, but perfectly adequate: it can be taken in the conservatory or in your room. We paid 115 euro for two per night all in: which is reasonable for this very expensive area. The hotel is set well away from the main road down its own drive, and there is plenty of (free) parking, and a pleasant garden setting. Whilst we were there the small swiming pool was being readied for the season. The rooms had air conditioning, though we didn't need to try this as the weather was nice and cool when we were there.
The hotel does not do evening meals, but needless to say there are several good restaurants nearby.
If you want a location away from the busy coast, but nevertheless well placed for reaching sites both on the coast and inland, then I imagine this is as good as any. I particulalry recommend the Gorges-du-Loup tour, and a trip to the 'Picasso' village of Mougins. Trips to the Riveira coast are obviously de rigeur, but beware the very busy traffic on the coast roads.
The hotel is part of the Logis de France chain, which we have generally found to be very good value, especially those offering evening meals with half board rates, and they are easily booked on ------
