“Mas Pomona Again!”

Mas Pomona

27 Mar 2008

We have just returned to rainy Twickenham after our third holiday at Mas Pomona. This is, however, our first stay with David & Marianne in the spring time.
In '06 and '07 we enjoyed the glorious weather of the Provencal Summer and I can't fault Mas Pomona in any way at all. We enjoyed afternoons by (and in) the fabulous pool and warm evenings socializing in the Au Vent watching the sun set. Marianne & David are keen to encourage self catering on their Barbeque and brought some of their own produce from their Potage to join us in evening snacks. The time flew by for us enjoying good company, good food and fabulous local wines.
This visit (although the pool wasn't as inviting in the spring) the weather was pleasant and the flowers, just opening, in the courtyard made the stay every bit as relaxing and enjoyable. It is so peaceful all year round and the array of flowers under our window was a glorious site to wake to. It brought some much needed colour to our lives after a winter in England.
I very much doubt this will be our last stay with David & Marianne and, whichever season we choose, I am eagerly looking forward to the next visit to Mas Pomona.
If you are thinking of Provence for a holiday contact Mas Pomona, I can guarantee you will feel as enthusiastic about your stay as we are about ours.

“Perfect for Provence”

This place really lived up to the hype and was exactly what we hoped for during our stay in Provence. Like others have stated, David and Marianne are the soul which make this place great. Starting with renovating the place themselves, down to the wonderful breakfast put on every morning, there is a lot of heart (and hard work) in running Mas Pomona. The design of the house and the rooms are simple, clean, and well detailed and built. Perfect calming feel when in the French countryside.

As far as getting advice on places to go and which day to travel to each of the particular markets, is worth the price alone. Well that and Pom and Cocoa, the two Jack Russells. Definitely our home away from home during our stay in Provence.

“Perfect Stay in Provence!”

Mas Pomona

18 Jan 2008

We could not have asked for a better home for our family, (mom, dad, and three teens (ages 13, 17, 18)) in Provence. After a week in busy Paris, Mas Pomona was a wonderful way to conclude our visit to France. David and Marianne were welcoming hosts: friendly and helpful. We enjoyed visiting with them, whether over a lovely breakfast they provided daily on the patio, or over a bottle of wine in the evening. The accomodations were beautiful and tasteful without being flashy. Mas Pomona was a wonderful place to come home to after a long day of touring around Provence (enhanced by David and Marianne's daily suggestions of destinations, routes, and meals). Mas is in a perfect location; away from the tourists but still retaining the feel of a real Provencial village. Adding to the experience were our other two hosts, the entertaining Jack Russell Terriers, Pom and Cocoa. We would return in a minute, rave about it to our friends, and recommend Mas Pomona to all.

Driving from the TGV station in Avignon, we thought, where the hell are we going? As soon as we arrived at Mas Pomona, we knew we'd come to our home away from home.

Beautiful house with common courtyard. Our room had it own entrance to the courtyard and was gorgeous in it's simplicity. The photos on their website are really helpful in choosing.

David and Marianne were wonderful hosts, making us feel welcome from the beginning. And their two jack russell terriers were welcome playmates for my husband and I who were missing our cat at home.

David and Marianne were fabulous and helping us create itineraries for the day and making dinner reservation at night. We couldn't have enjoyed ourselves as much without their help and insight.

Can't say enough about this place except we can't wait to go back in warm weather to take advantage of the outside eating area and beautiful pool.

“Just Devine !!!”

Mas Pomona

We have just spent 4 nights in this gorgeous B&B with a group of 5 couples from New Zealand & had a wonderful time. The Mas is well located to explore the different areas of Provence, most places we wanted to explore were achieved with day trips. Our hosts David & Marianne were charming & able to suggest excellent itineries each day . David would spend time with us each morning going over the route to be taken after croissants & coffee. Their recommendations for restaurants for both dinner & lunch were spot on, with our hosts kindly making reservations for us as we were a large group.
We also loved the Golden Delicous apples perfect for picking !!
We felt we went at a great time of year, few tourists about which made everything less stressed & lovely temperature.
I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone who enjoys the finer things in life, just beautiful without pretense.
Thank you David & Marianne we will be back !!!
