Lovely people, friendly atrmosphere, pretty gardens (very dog-friendly -- they have their own meadow to romp in), smart pool and really, seriously good food and wine. Nice mix of guests, from young families to the elderly. All in all, very good value.
Rooms are spacious and comfortable, if a little dated, but well-serviced. We chose a mountain view (very pretty), as these are usually quieter in lake resorts, but discovered that a main road (hidden from view) ran a few fields away from our balcony, which rather spoiled the pleasure of it. More to the point, we stayed during a heatwave and could not leave the windows open because of the howls from neighbouring babies, the screech of motorcyles and the thunder of lorries. No AC so, although a fan was provided, we had a choice of sweltering or lying awake listening to all the background noises.
Would definitely stay again but next time would have a lake view, which would be quieter. Talking of lake views, the only way to get them is from an upper room -- trees block just about everything at ground level.
