The international Baccalaureate booked me
in here as a presenter at their Regional workshops and I have to say I was happy to contemplate a modern and well run hotel. (This impression was based on my entirely favourable impression of the Novotel at Heathrow)

I was not disappointed with the rooms or the services...but do please consider
that this is a popular lunch venue and that the kitchens are stretched during the week.

7 of us ordered soup in order to make quick departure for a pre arranged taxi... but when the soup didn't arrive after 40 minutes we appreciated that they cancelled our order without charge.

I really liked the position (near a fabulous shopping centre and train station) and felt confident in the hotel’s commitment to excellence!

I would always choose a Novotel if someone else was paying the bill! It’s fairly priced and well considered whenever I have visited!

Room was in good shape. Close to subway station for going to city center.

Hotel middle in the city. (Parking is OK 10€)
Rooms are nice. TV has less than 20 programs and mainly french. Internet is Orange and therefore not cheep.
Hotel has a small restaurant.
Shopping Centre "La Part-Dieu" is across the street and has everything for shopoolics.
I would go back but the capacitiy of the Hotel Lifts aren't fantastic, so you could wait quite long if a group is leaving.
)there is no lift from the parking to the hotel, so be ready to carry your luggage of few stairs)
The TGV-Railway-Station La Part-Dieu is 100 meters away, so it is also very nice for Railway-Travellers.

Stayed at the Novotel La Part Dieu for seven nights in Jan 06. The hotel itself is fine-- clean, well-maintained, spacious rooms with lots of storage, good food (well, the one time we ate it). The neighbourhood is not in the touristy part of Lyon, but it's extremely convenient to both tram and metro, so that's not really a big deal. Also, it's about half a block from the Lyon Part-Dieu train station, and there's an airport shuttle drop off about 50 feet from the door of the hotel.

Until we tried to check out, the service seemed fine to us, too. Front desk was helpful, always willing to call a taxi or whatever, and the maid staff was pleasant and surprisingly French/English bilingual. However, on check out they tried to charge us 25 euro a day for breakfast we never ate, and then the total room charge was over 100 euro more than the quote had said it would be. We're still fighting it out by email, but it was sort of a disappointing end to an otherwise pleasant week to be jilted around like that.
