Cute hotel, value for money, well located on Place Bellecour and Le Sud (Bocuse restaurant), great shower (very important), tourist information centre nearby as well as numerous restaurants, shops and cafes.

The central location in Lyon is great, across from the main square and near the subway. The hotel itself is in an odd spot in an old office building, up a long flight of stone stairs from the street. To reach our family room, one also goes through the kitchen and a utility entrance, and must navigate a dank set of steps. But the room was large and clean, and adequate and affordable for a one-night stay.

Good, very central location for seeing Lyon by foot. Very friendly and helpful staff. Maybe slightly worn rooms, but on the whole very nice. We booked again for this year's trip.

Price –59 EUR; very reasonable for Lyon in June
Location –Directly on Place Bellecour; easy walking distance to major sites; steps away from metro (good) and tourist office

Cleanliness –Very clean; room smelled of mold and cigarette smoke from other areas in hotel
Noise –Very quiet during night; room was between reception and breakfast area ... noisy in the morning
Staff –Very helpful and kind; spoke English well
Food –Breakfast extra 6.50 EUR per person; standard continental breakfast plus cereal, apple sauce and yogurt (need to ask for yogurt); all fresh
Other/commentary –We were in room 6, which was the smallest room and maybe the only one on the small bare interior courtyard. Strongly advise asking for another room if possible.
