We stayed at this hotel last month for 4 nights taking advantage of a special that included a champagne bottle, fruit basket, two 30-minute massages, daily breakfast and a 5-course dinner each night.
Location – great! In the middle of the town about a 5-10 min. walk to the ski lifts. They also provide a shuttle that takes you anywhere in town. There are lots of restaurants, shops, bars just steps away from the hotel. The small grocery store right next door is very convenient. The view from the 2nd floor terrace is spectacular!
Food – exquisite! The breakfast buffet had a great selection of fresh baked pastries, fruits and made to order hot dishes. We had three wonderful 5-course dinners and ordered from the set menu, which provides two options for each course. You can order other dishes at their regular prices (can get very expensive). Wine of course is not included and the least expensive bottle is 70 Euro (they don’t sell by the glass). Fantastic wait staff!
Service – everyone was very friendly and professional. The only exception was one of the front desk attendants (a lady) who didn’t seem happy about us bringing a dog, but everyone else was very nice to him.
Room –very small! I think we had the smallest room in the hotel, which had a very nice king size bed but left very little space to walk around. The closet is not big enough for two people with ski gear. The bellboy was very nice and stored our empty suitcases in the storage room. Room service was fantastic; they even vacuumed the doggie bed.
Pets – are allowed, but you’ll have to pay 40 Euro per night (most hotels charge 20 Euros or free).
Parking – it’s provided at 20 Euro per night. It’s underground and they will not let you access your car at all, but the attendant will fetch things for you if needed.
Spa – needs improvement! We were very disappointed that both hot tubs were not working – the water was cold and the jets were broken. They were supposed to get fixed but I guess the technician didn’t make it that week. They did have a small pool (cold), a sauna and steam room. Oh and the one-hour Sports massage was terrific.
Ski shop/rentals – Killy Sport is on the bottom floor of the hotel. They stored our gear and we were glad to have warm boots every morning. The staff was super friendly!
Overall we had a wonderful stay at Le Savoie and recommend it. While it was recently remodeled and upgraded to a 4-star Deluxe hotel, it still has areas of improvements to merit the regular prices (1000+Euro per night). However, with the special rate this was a great value.
