We reserved the Golden Leaf Perlatch thru HRS over three weeks in advance and also re-confirmed our guaranteed reservation the day before only to be told upon arrival that they were overbooked and we would now be staying at the Perlatch Hotel. As we had reserved this hotel based on some good reviews, quality of facilities, and convenience to public transportation, we did not want to change hotels. The front desk staff had only one thought on their minds: getting people shuttled off to other hotels so they would no longer be their problem. We questioned them whether the other hotel's quality, facilities, public transportation, and price matched the Golden Leaf and were told "yes" to every concern. As there appeared to be no other option, we got in the taxi they provided and went to the Perlatch Hotel. Unfortunately, the Perlatch Hotel is on a very busy street with alot of traffic noise coming into the rooms, locks that do not function on sliding glass doors (no repairs were attempted during our stay), you must catch a bus to get to the U-bahn, and we were told the price was higher. After a phone call to the Golden Leaf, atleast the quoted price was finally honored. We were supposed to have received a fruit basket and bottled water upon arrival at the Golden Leaf, but they made no attempt to provide that nor any kind of upgrade due to their reservation problems. The total lack of customer service and uncaring attitude caused much stress and inconvenience on our first visit to Munich and we would strongly recommend never staying at either hotel.
