I often read on here how US guests struggle with the size of hotel rooms here in Europe compared to the wide open spaces of the bog standard Holiday Inn back home. Well, this might be the answer for those of you who need to wander about your hotel rooms, cook meals, play roller hockey on the carpet etc. The Ghotel is pretty new, clean and - at least in the double rooms - has acres of space in which to swing an average sized cougar. Most of the rooms also have a kitchen area - cleverly concealed within one of the may floor to ceiling wardrobes - not that you'd want to do a fry-up so close the bed. There's also a sort of ante-room with more cupboard space and a reasonably sized bathroom. In short, just what a US visitor would expect. As regards location, some may find it a little out of the way, but there's a U-bahn at the end of the street which wil take you up to the city centre in a couple of minutes. But do take time to explore the neighbourhood - you are minutes from the river and the local area of Glockenbach has some great quirky shops, bars and restaurants and an opera house. Also, the ghotel is usually very reasonably priced - and a much better choice than some of the equivalent three stars around the main station. I've stayed in many hotels in Munich and for price/area/comfort this is hard to beat.
