The Berg Hotel is built right on the old city wall and provides a lovely ambiance from which to enjoy Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Our room was wonderfully romantic, with a carved canopied bed, a cozy little sitting room and lovely view of the gardens. The room just begged you to sit down, relax and unwind. The hotel staff was friendly, helpful and wonderfully efficient. The hotel is very thoughtful and provides umbrellas for their guests’ use, as well as placing oscillating fans in the rooms which dealt effectively with the warm weather. Breakfast is served in a dining room with an incredible view of the valley which beckons you to linger over your morning cup. Breakfast is an above average spread consisting of breads, fruit, cereals, cold cuts, cheese, juice, coffee & tea. I cannot imagine a more romantic place from which to explore Rothenburg.

Coincidentally, we stayed in the same room (Nr 15) that was reviewed in a few previous posts. Indeed, this is a very nice room! almost a suite. There is a sleeping area (see pic) and a seperate sitting area with a large couch and a Loewe LCD TV. There are 2 safes in the room, and standard coffee making facilities. The toilet looks newly renovated with a large rain shower and new sinks and commodes.

The best thing is the view overlooking the Tauber valley. Greenery stretching across the valleys with toy like houses scattered on the opposite side. This is possibly the best view of any hotel in Rothenburg. All I can say is that if you are even considering staying at this hotel, just go ahead and do yourself a favour by asking for a valley view. Otherwise, I think you would be missing out on one of the big reason of visiting this place in the first place.

Internet is free of charge, just ask the reception for the password to get yourself connected to the wifi.

Looking for the perfect place to stay in Rothenburg? Burghotel is the place! It is within the walls -- in fact, it is right ON the wall. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a parking garage if you drive there. Once you park, you can easily walk to everything in town.

Our suite was incredible! It was huge, and had a fantastic view overlooking the valley. We could also access the outdoor terrace. Two large bedrooms, plus a large bathroom and separate toilet room.

Nice breakfast buffet.

The hotel's rooms were excellent and the breakast was great. The staff was helpful and frendly. Only negative was that the parking while is a private garage was a bit expensive.
