I was recomended this walking tour by a friend - and it was a good recomendation. We did the tour on a Friday morning. We met in the place that was advertised, and waited for the tour to start. We were a bit dubious at first becasue there were so many people, however before the tour got underway we were split into groups of about 25 people per guide.
Seb was our guide. He was not originaly from Berlin, but it soon became apparent that his knowledge was very good of the tour stops. The commentary was witty, clear and concise, and he made sure everyone understood. I have to say that both myself and partner felt very easy with the guide.
The tour comprised of wha you would expect on a walking tour of Berlin - Branderburg Gates, Reishtag, Memorial to the Murdered Jews, Hitlers Bunker, Stasi Building, Historical Churches and Cathedrals, Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie. At no point was I distracted from Seb.
I was expecting a massive sales push for the paid tours at some point. During the coffee break, the other tours were mentioned and explained, although it was not a drawn out process and i felt comfortable that i was not being pushed into anything - in fact i wanted to go on one ot the paid for tours, but my time did not permit me.
Seb invited the whole group out for drinks at the end of the tour - unfortunately i had a prior appointment so we could not make it. We would have gone however had we been able to.
Tour was advertised at 3.5 hours - but was more like just over 4. Not an issue for me, but may be for some people
At the end of the tour, the "tip" bit was not pressured or arkward at all, and i was more than happy to pay for the excellent tour that Seb had given us. I got the feeling that the rest of the group felt the same - lots of happy faces.
