This is one excellent spot, in terms of geographical location and the facilities itself.
The rooms were amazingly clean, we had a great view over the top of Brandenburg Gate and the Bundestag, the staff were super-friendly and attentive and we loved the spa facilities. Everything was perfect really!
There were two things I was not impressed by: we had mentioned that we would arrive round 11am and asked for the room to be ready then if possible, the room was only ready at 2pm which was slightly annoying, but at least we got an upgrade so it made up for it.
The other thing was the concierge! While he had such great knowledge about different places to go to, he messed up our Saturday night. He booked a restaurant for us (the "Hartweizen") on a Sunday night. We took a taxi to the restaurant that evening to find it closed. Then had to find another restaurant which was quite embarrassing in front of our friends. When I told him the next morning that the restaurant was closed, he said "We said a confirmation to your room last night to say we had booked another restaurant for you when we found out that Hartweizen is closed. sorry about the miscommunication". Obviously there was no note in the room. That experience and how the situation was dealt with afterwards really disappointed us, not in line with the standard of the Adlon.
The breakfast is expensive with €39 per person, but I would definitely spend it - it was the best breakfast buffet we ever had. So much choice and the quality is fantastic! Also, try to get a table with a view to the Brandenburg Gate.
Definitely mention if you would like a non-smoking room. The best room are the ones overlooking the...
