Just got back after staying here for a week and I was very impressed with this hotel - our room was very clean as were the other areas of the hotel such as the dining area and the bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful, all of them spoke English to a good standard and didn't complain at my limited German.
The breakfasts were of good standard and very also very plentiful.
The bar served decent german beer and was not too pricey.
Its location is a bit out of the way but isn't too far out of the way to be inconvenient. The nearest underground station is the S-Bahn Anhalter Bahnhof which is approx 200 yards up the road on Stresemannstrasse. Keep an eye out for the little tardis boxes (Lift directly to the platforms - saves humping your luggage up the stairs) - they are placed behind the one remaining wall of the old Anhalter Bahnhof). The proximity of the hotel to this station makes exploring Berlin a complete doddle.
Overall, I was thoroughly pleased with choosing this hotel and would definitely stay here again for any break in Berlin.
Tips:
Use Anhalter Bahnhof to travel up to the U-Bahn line stations (especially Friedrichstrasse) to see more of the city.
If you fly into Schonefeld, dont pay for a taxi to the hotel, get the S9 on the S-Bahn going to Grunewald, change lines at Friedrichstrasse and either get onto the S26 going to Tetlow Stadt, the S2 going to Blankenfelde or the S1 to Potsdam Haupbanhof and get off at Anhalter Banhof and once out of the station, follow the direction of the traffic on your side of the road and the hotel is there.
Checkpoint Charlie, if you want to visit this, it's a 10 minute walk from this hotel - head along Anhalter Strasse directly opposite the hotel, walk until you reach Friedrichstrasse (2 blocks), turn left and you'll be there in about 2 minutes.
As pointed out in other reviews, go along Anhalter Strasse, cross over the road at Wilhelmstrasse and have a nice Spanish / Mexican meal at the Steakhaus - the prices have been reduced to 50% - the food is nice and so are the staff.
If you want to visit Potsdam or the Sachenhausen concentration camp in Oranienburg, the S1 from Anhalter Bahnhof will take you directly there.
