Before travelling I was a little concern about this hotel, after reading other reviews. But I did not regret the decision, it was very nice and pleasant time!
It is true the rooms are a little bit small but they are quite in the European standards, about cleaning: All the place was spotless!, washroom updated, looks like just renovated, comfortable bed, coffee, tea and small cookies in the room daily, the hotel has a cozy sauna room, very clean and bright, wifi is free, so you can travel with your laptop (don't forget your converters for electricity) and also they have a PC available near reception area.
Staff friendly, correct and ready to assist you all the time, I got the room including buffet breakfast and it was worth it, fresh bread, croissants, a good selection of cheeses, ham and vegetables, yogurts, coffee, tea, cereals and all in a very bright and cozy room.
Best of all; location, location..3 minutes walk to Altona station. When you get to the airport, just get the single trip to Altona, take the train in the airport and it will take you to the hotel!, if you go to visit Berlin and other cities, trains are at your door, so you don't have to rush, or wake up extra early, also trains in Hamburg are served from this station, so you are minutes away of Repeerbahn or Rathaus. I did get the daily group pass and I traveled all day and also use it for the ferry for only 9,60 Euros for 2 people!!.
I really recommend this hotel! it is not extra luxurious or posh, but is comfortable, very clean and with a superb location....Only thing about this area; I didn't like too much the restaurant at the corner....food was heavy, not well presented, they don't have beer... unbelievable LOL...But if you walk a little to a shopping mall called Mercado, you will find great food, good wines and beer, yummy sweets, right at 5 or 7 min walk. As well of lots of cafes around the area, so you can avoid this restaurant right in the corner of the train station with the yellow and green sign....I cannot remember the name of the place.
I got a room in the first floor, room 114, good wifi connection.
I forgot to mention that if you tr...
