What was good: Rate was competitive. The shuttle from the airport is easy to find - if you have directions: From the baggage area, exit Door B, go straight ahead, the NRW office will be on your right (it says nothing about hotel shuttle or Holiday Inn). Frequent shuttles, every 20 minutes, only a few minutes to the airport. Front desk helped carry my bags up to my room. What was bad: no elevator and getting my heavy bags down the stairs in the morning was not easy, old furnishings, stained carpet, no AC. Room was hot and stuffy till I opened the window and let in the cool air. On hot days, I would imagine it could be very uncomfortable. No free Internet. Couldn’t get the Internet program to take my debit card (I had no trouble with it anywhere else, so it wasn’t the card). The airport shuttle I wanted to take was full in the AM, so I got to airport later than I had planned. (But it turned out to be soon enough.)

Stayed here as it was convienient to airport, but I was disapointed. I travel most weeks and stay in a lot of hotels. Normaly Hoilday inn are OK, but this was pretty poor non interested service. Resturant closed, pool bar open for a very poor burger.
Rooms are clean, but hotel is dated. TV has german channels, but no international to speak of and movie channel didn't work. I know it's in Germany, but not what you would expect for an airport hotel.
Expensive Internet ! How not to entice business travellers.
Shuttle Bus is provided so if you need a basic hotel for an early flight it's OK, but I didn't think it was good value and won't be staying here again.

The hotel is close from the airport, relatively quiet with woods all around the hotel. The room was very large and modern. Good choice of breakfast, be prepared to pay EUR 17.-- for the breakfast buffet.

There is a transfer shuttle to the airport. For the way from the hotel to the airport, it is essential to book the night before! They don't tell you this at the reception, you have to ask for it.

Shuttle from the airport to the hotel: write down these instructions, you will never find it on your own without asking. Go to the entrance of the Sheraton hotel (walking distance, just across from the terminal) on the arrivals level. At the hotel entrance, there is a little office "NRW Shuttle". It says nothing about holiday inn at all. Ask in this office for the shuttle, and they will take you to the hotel, shuttles departing every 20 minutes approx.

Around the hotel, there is nowhere to go, so you depend on the services of the hotel.

Well the good news is it's convenient for the airport and the staff are friendly, otherwise not much going for it. I've stayed here a few times on business and it's pretty average with a bit of a trek to the city. At the time of writing the restaurant was closed for refurbishment so an evening meal was only available in a dark dingy small bar and BF was taken in a converted meeting room. The hotel is pretty spread out on one floor so sometimnes a bit of a trek to your room.
