I spend about 1/3 of my time in hotels all over the world travelling on business and it's so exciting when you get somewhere which doesn't feel like a hotel. This hotel is a few miles outside of Flensburg, but easily reachable by taxi and much more personal than the town centre hotels. Located on the edge of the Baltic, with fantastic views, the hotel's rooms are attractively different and furnished to an extremely high quality with a fabulously opulent feel. My standard room was arranged like two joined at the corner, separating sleeping area from seating area with sofas and gorgeous bureau desk. The loo and shower/wet room were separate rooms, what a useful idea! Instead of an overpriced/crammed mini-bar, there's simply a fridge with beer, sodas and water - free of charge. How nice to be able to crack open a beer after the long journey to Flensburg and forget about the cost - nice touch! There's broadband in the room too, but don't forget your ethernet cable. Staff are typically efficient and friendly. The breakfast is lavish and high quality and caters very well for international and healthy tastes, unlike some continental hotels. The lobby bar, cosy sofas and open fires in reception give the welcome every hotel should to it's weary guests - overall, excellent.
