“Excellent stay”

Molina Lario

2 Jul 2008

I was pleasantly surprised upon arrival at the Molina Lario. After a brief stay at a below average hotel in Sevilla I was very happy to walk into a very modern lobby with a friendly staff that took care of all of our luggage for us. The elevator system was a little strange, but enjoyable. There are 3 elevators next to each other and depending on which floor you are staying on, depends on which elevator you can take. I guess this is to add to the modern feel of the entire hotel.
There is a beautiful area in the courtyard to eat outside (and let me tell you that the food is fantastic)! Directly inside from the courtyard is a nice bar. In the morning, you can have a buffet breakfast in the breakfast room with a large enough selection for even the most picky of eaters. (Cereal, juice, milk, donuts, eggs, bread, cold cuts, fruit, ect.)
The rooms were spotless with robes, slippers, a bodea and shampoos and all the other toiletries you would need, including a hair dryer.
The room has a flat screen tv with many channels, including a few English speaking channels to choose from. There is a cd player and clock also in the room. There is a stocked mini bar, of course a little pricey but not too bad and the rooms seem to be sound proofed. There is a busy road right outside the hotel and once I closed the windows I did not hear any of the hustle and bustle from the street below. There is even a turn down service in the evening, which is really nice after a long day out on the town. The bed is VERY comfortable, but it is two twin beds pushed together, but to be honest this is not a problem.
I would definetely stay here again!

“Great hotel in a fantastic location”

Molina Lario

We stayed at the Molina Lario for 4 nights in June - we had a fantastic trip. The hotel is in a really good location, 10 minutes from the beach and right in the middle of the city.

The hotel held a cocktail reception in the hotel on our first night, which might have been a little loud for those rooms overlooking the central courtyard, however they invited all the guests along with free food and drink, so it was a great start to our trip!

The rooms were as you would expect for a 4* city hotel and the bathroom was lovely, larger than average.

The hotel has a really good roof top pool. There are only a few sunloungers so we thought we would struggle to find space, however every time we wanted to use them they were free. It was fabulous to be able to swim and lay in the sun overlooking the cathedral and the sea (although you do look over a dock rather than beautiful beaches!).

The restaurant offers good food and has a really nice bar, which had live music on at least one evening. The cocktails were worth trying.

Malaga itself is fairly small but great for a long weekend. We had fabulous weather and enjoyed eating out in the city, where there are some great Spanish-style restaurants - it is worth noting that people eat late, normally after 10pm.

I'm not sure whether we would visit Malaga again since I feel we saw it all in the 4 days, however if we did we would stay at the Molina Lario again.

“Magical two nights at the Molina Lario”

Molina Lario

16 Jun 2008

Greeted at the door and our cases were whisked to our room which was clean and fresh and incredibly roomy {double de-luxe}. Fantastic mixture of original sash windows but modern glazing and air con! Amazing location to walk to all the main attractions in Malaga which is a great city for a short break. highly recommended, would stay again and would try the sister hotel in Barcelona - really pleased with our choice here

we stayed at the molina lario hotel for 4 nights in may 2008 ,i read all the reviews beforehand and i have to say it surpassed all expectations .
its a great hotel ,we had a standard room ,which was lovely no need for a superior .
the location is great ,right across the road from the cathedral .
the old town is truly beautiful ,great architecture ,fantastic cafe scene .no need to eat in the hotel ,not even breakfast ,there are lots of lovely cafes around which are very reasonably priced .
we hired a car for the last day and then returned it to the airport ,this is very easy to do as its a straight road to the airport .the hotel arranged the car and gave us a very good discount ,they then arranged for a cab to take us to the hire company which you get reimbursed for.
malaga old town is a great place for a city break ,i can truly recommend it .

“Pleasant hotel... nice facilities, but lacking "wow" factor”

I booked two last minute rooms on the morning of our arrival in Malaga, based on the reviews on tripadvisor. I'd generally agree with everyone's views - the location is very central, the "design hotel" styling is modern, the rooms are relatively spacious and the rooftop pool is a plus (but very cold, even in June). The overall ambiance is sterile - but functional.

The staff were pleasant enough but disinterested... and made me move the car on checkout - refusing to let me leave it an extra 2 hours when we we were sightseeing. When driving my car around to the front door, they gave me the wrong key back, which would have been a mild worry had we not been driving a fairly offensive blue VW hir car!

We paid £84 a night, which was good value... but it I wouldn't rush back... Generally, you could do a lot worse, though...
