We Stayed here for 5 days without our 10 year old daughter, so picked it because it was small and hopefully quiet! We arrived very late at night and were very impressed by our room. We booked an Eagle Suite which was New York Loft in style. Very clean, very large and best of all the jacuzzi bath in the lounge area overlooked the 11th hole. The hotel did seem very quiet for the middle of July and for the first 3 days of our holiday were practically the only ones at the pool area. The pool area was lovely with canapies to shade you, fresh towels and the pool was surrounded by lemon trees, with a great view of the golf course. A group of people with quite a few children arrived on day 4 and because the pool area is quite small it became very cramped and very noisy. I note the comment on the previous review about the room not being cleaned till 5pm - we had no problem with this. In fact they couldn't wait to clean our room. Just by the door there were 2 switches for you to press, one for do not disturb and one for please clean the room. Perhaps the other people did not realise this!? The breakfast was lovely. There was only fresh juice/water and fruit salad on self service but anything was cooked for you from omelette to eggs and bacon. This hotel was very popular with golfers. We hopped in a taxi and ate in Marbella most nights, but the restaurant here was very civilised indeed. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing break.

Great place, great golf course, great sights, great decoration but... What a service for a 5 star!!!! Room untidy at 5 pm, bad breakfast buffet, noise at night (pool engines), bad expensive new year's dinner, very slow room service, not enough reception workers, no ironing...

And the worst: after leaving the hotel, one person from reception ran at the garage in order to catch us and asked for a bathrobe that we supposedly had taken from the room!!! We asked for another, as there was one really old, and we didnt receive any. The following day there was just one bathrobe at our room.

Incredible.

I WILL NEVER COME BACK

i visited the rio real golf hotel with my husband in august, the staff were all really friendly the food was beautiful and the hotel was worth ever star rating. It was only 8 euros in a taxi to the centre of marbella. The golf course was in perfect condition and a joy to play, we cant wait to go back next year it will definitley be a regular holiday spot for us, everything about our stay was 5* plus.
