“Breathtaking and Amazing Hotel”

Fabulous hotel. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. The hotel is gorgeous. The housekeeping is amazing. This hotel is where you want to stay in Marbella. Taxis are a must, but it's worth it. The views are great. Very quiet and relaxing. A must.

“For golf fans only.”

Villa Padierna Hotel

23 May 2008

*Positives*
- Large room with fantastic bathroom
- Courteous staff
- Nice semi-outdoor (and indoor) dining areas
- Nice lounge area

*Negatives*
- Breakfast total fiasco, always waiting for something every day
- Service at dinner friendly but forgetful & infrequent
- Dinner poor value for money (try noodle bar in Puerto Banus)
- Pool area rather confined
- Curt golf buggy man
- No balcony or DVD player despite room description
- Expensive spa
- Hotel not as isolated as pictures suggest
- Pool cafe disorganised, no menu
- Can charge you for parking!

*Other*
- You will need a car/transport to get out

*Summary*
If you're a golf fanatic and less concerned about the hotel then you'll probably love this place as two golf courses surround it.
If you're going for the other hotel amenities I wouldn't bother as you'll be irritated by something from the moment you start breakfast.

Went on from here to the Don Pepe in Marbella which was much nicer despite smaller rooms.

“Disappointed”

Villa Padierna Hotel

Hertfordshire
20 May 2008

My partner and I have just returned from a week at the Villa Padierna and I unfortunately have to say that we were quite disappointed. We had read the great reviews on trip advisor prior to our trip and had also gone onto the hotel's website and were therefore expecting something amazing.

I have to say that the staff were fantastic - very professional, polite and helpful on the most part. However, we found the hotel very superficial and, whereas it was a clean and impressive building, it lacked any real atmosphere and we felt like we were staying in a museum or library rather than a hotel.

The location of the hotel is also not good - you have to have a car if you want to go anywhere and you therefore end up spending quite alot on cabs etc for nights out.

The golf course is good - but challenging! The pool is nice but seems almost "misplaced" at the side of the hotel.

During our stay the hotel seemed more interested and focused on getting ready for a big wedding coming up at the weekend and our mornings were met with drilling and maintenance work on the ground floor from 8.30am!!!! When we mentioned this to the reception staff, they smiled sweetly and said that it would be finished, but it continued throughout the stay!!!

There are 2 restaurants - one is the verandah restaurant which we ate in on our 2nd night and found the food to be lovely - however, without being warned, when we went to eat there again, it had been closed for the week!!

The rooms are very nice - we had a deluxe room - but we were disappointed that this had no balcony. However, the beds are really comfortable and the bathrooms very impressive.

The photos on the website look great as though the hotel is on its own in the countryside -however, the reality is that it is surrounded by lots of apartment complexes being built up high so again (not the fault of the hotel), alot of building work going on.

All in all, we found the hotel to be very good on the surface, but had no good atmosphere and the staff, although all very friendly, seemed uninterested in sorting out any real problems. Be also aware of the costs of drinks etc !!!

“amazing!!!!!”

Villa Padierna Hotel

15 May 2008

Beautiful hotel, amazing grounds
We really enjoyed the hotel, we stayed in a superior room with a balcony, very comfertable beds, large nice bathroom.
The spa is amazing, massive steam rooms and sauna, we used the indoor pool every evening.
There are three lakes and loads of walkways, just be careful not to get hit by any golf balls!!!!! beautifull views!!!!!
the only downside, the staff is really not friendly and not very helpfull!

“Incredible service, rooms and value - true 5 star”

Absolutely delighted with the truse 5 star experience at this hotel for 4 star prices. I do not understand how they ca charge comparitively so little for such a comprehensive offering. This was probably the first time I have never had to complain about anything at a 5 star resort. Believe the hype it is all true I promise. We are in a deluxe suits (room 201) that is about 800 sq ft of clean, quality opulence plus our own private 400 sq ft sun terrace. All this for E270 ! Totally impressed and will be back. Book through AMEX Centurion for free room upgrade, late check out, free lunch at La Loggia, free spa voucher, free breakfast and a fabulous extravagant time in the clasiest joint in Marbella. Padierna eats the Marbella Beach Club and the Punte Romano for breakfast - price and value cannot be beaten anywhere in Europe. The nearest I got to the luxury shown hee was at The Wynn Las Vegas,(that didn't have nearly as much charm as this Southern Spanish gem). Highly recommended you will not be disappointed whatever yoiu are used to I assure you! Well done Villa Padierna and many thanks for an incredibly good time!
