We have just returned from a 2week stay at the 4star Sol Aloha Puerto in torremolinos and I will give an honest description of the hotel. We arrived on may 6th and on first impressions the frontage is very nicely kept,a Large fountain with its lovely pool, the arched avenue up to the automatic glass doors, you enter into a lovely bright and airy reception area, go to meet the receptionist,Opps! sad, no greeting smiles or welcome to our hotel, you check in with the minimum words, get your two keys and are left to find your room,we were in block3 on the sunny side, the rooms are a bit dated but, very light ,a nice size with separate bedroom and bathroom, and a nice small verandah with excellent views all very jolly, until, you try the bed and you find you have stepped back 20years in time,(Thats how beds felt then) we had the mattresses changed twice, but,to no avail, they actually got worse,so,we decided the sofabed was it,Not Good,We found the pools, gardens, snack bar at the rear of the hotel very well kept and clean,as always, you get those poor souls who find it necesary to get up halfway through the night to put a towel on a sunbed,Oh Dear! The best kept secret in this hotel is the restaurant,GREAT!! we ate here all the time, the selection of hot and cold food was more than enough to please the fussiest person and I am one of those people, the staff were as friendly as their time would allow as,they were always very busy,The real star of the Whole place is the Manager Carles,he always was very welcoming and made time to say a few words every time anybody came into his restaurant( he should be Hotel Manager),what a star,a big smile, wonderful.Overall this hotel has an enviable position in Torremolinos/Benalmadena right on the promenade/beach,is mainly not much of a problem if you have trouble with mobility, there are ways round the steps,The gardens are very well kept as is all of the public areas and the rooms are kept very clean by the daily cleaners, who will change towels as often as you wish.We didnt enjoy our stay here as we had all the trouble with the beds,if and when Sol decide to come into this century with this item, then,I will return. To the faithfull of the Sol Aloha Puerto who keep on coming, tell them about these things, you never know, one of them might smile at and say Si ! we will do something.Any one thinking of going to this hotel, have a good holiday and sleep well before you go.as the walls are very thin and you will hear the slightest noise.Adios.
