I think this is the 4th or 5th time that I have stayed at the Sol Don Pedro over the past 6 years. I return mainly for the location - excellent location on the seafront at Bajondillo beach. If travelling by taxi from Malaga airport it takes approx 15 mins and costs approx 16 euros one way.

Its worth giving an update on the hotel - as the previous stay was 2006.
As mentioned in previous write ups the hotel is part of the complex with the Don Marco and Don Pablo. Facilities of all three hotels are available whichever you stay in. The hotel seems to have an ongoing maintenance program which keeps everything looking fairy decent.
The restaurant is still busy offering the 'showcase' chef cooking. The queues for this can be quite long! Other buffet options are generous with choice. 'Hot food' can often be tepid. Perhaps they would be better doing a carvery?
The rooms do tend to be on the small side but comfortable and generally quiet. Superior rooms are located overlooking the main pool towards the sea front. Other rooms tend to overlook other parts of the hotel eg. car park, 2nd pool, tennis court etc. I would question the value of paying for a superior room just to get the 'sunny side'.
Entertainment is mixed - the best by far being the flamenco. Arrive early for the best seats! do check out the entertainment boards as the other hotels will have different shows on at the same time!
Other clientele tend to be couples of all ages wanting a relaxed holiday. The hotel has good child facilities as well. It is certainly not a hotel for single sex groups wanting a brash lively time!
All staff seem to be friendly and helpful!

Lovely friendly hotel helped by being in an enclosed complex with the Don Marco and Don Pedro sharing facilities and enclosing three relaxing garden and pool areas. The buffet style restaurants served a wide chouce of fresh and hot food with plenty of fresh fruit always available. The staff were always cheerful and friendly, the hotel was fairly full the week before Easter with a nice mix of English, Spanish and other nationalities. We went not expecting a lot and were very pleasantly surprised by the hotel and by Torremolinos out of season. We will certainly be going back!

We love this hotel!!!
I have visited the Don Pedro four times now in the past six years and can honestly say that I haven't had one bad experience in all that time.

I am 34 years old and have a son of 8. We normally visit the hotel with my Mum and dad and there is something there for everyone.
It is very close to the beach and all of the nice bars, which are a pleasant walk away up some very steep steps ( there is a lift half way up for anyone who needs it and its not expensive.)

The rooms are clean and well kept and the maid comes around every day and cleans up, changing the towels, making the beds and generally sorting the room out.

The food in the don Pedro is by far one of the best buffets to be seen, make sure that you check out the pasta and the cheese table is pretty wicked too.

When you are there be sure to make the walk along the beach and around the headland. there is a whole nother resort along there.

We also love the market which you can get a taxi to for about 5 euros, On wednesdays I think(you can walk it if you go up the steps, across the main road and just keep going. There is the brilliant crocadile park just to the left of the market aswell which my son loves and you get to hold a baby crocodile too. The bullring is up that way too.

The hotel is in a complex with 2 others and the Don Pedro is the quietest by far but thats why we love it.

Anyway please trust this review and try this hotel. You will love it.

“Great Hotel Great Location”

Sol Don Pedro Hotel

This Hotel is a great 3 star, rooms good size and very clean. Food was varied and excellant, great choice of cold and hot. Not many waiters clearing tables had to wait for a table sometimes. Location very good. 3 Hotels in one complex plenty of entertainment, if you have children they will love it. Indoor pool as well as 2 outdoor pools. Taxi was 15 euros to airport. Would reccomend this hotel for all age groups.
