Stayed in the sol timor for seven nights, room 3916...noisy. bedroom opposite mulligans bar...so the noise at night/early morning is very loud...as there is no air conditioning in this hotel..had to keep windows open...room itself is oldfashioned and basic..room service every second day
Complex itself was clean...laundry room available to use which is handy..
Only book this place last minute to get the best deals..otherwise your paying way over the odds for it...I booked the day before I went so at least got a cheap price...otherwise..dont bother..

we went for a family holiday on june 22 for a week to this hotel.i was nervous after reading the reviews but i can honestly say it was brill
the hotel is spotless and the staff are fantastic,they couldnt do enough for you
i had a 10 17 16 9 and 7 year old as well as my self sis in law hubby and ma in law and each one loved it there
the location couldnt be better ,out the back gate and your on the beach and short walks from everything else you needed
entertainment excellenc as were kids club
food lovely in the hotel but if you wanted something fdifferent you are only a five min walk from loads of restuarants in themarina
jacks amercan diner was fab and one to definelty try is the tex mex
i for one will definetly go back to the sol timor

Just returned from a Hoilday in Torremolinos and stayed in the Sol Timor with my wife and 4yr old son and i would have to say off all my family hoildays abroad and hotels/apartments stayed in this has to be one of the best so far.We are looking into booking for 2 weeks next year already.
Location was fantastic, away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of the resort but still lively enough for a family to enjoy also the walk along the promenade with the many local Bars and restaraunts looking onto the fine beach was a pleasure.The Food in Hotel was Okay although we spent most of the time eating in Mulligans across the road which was was fantastic.Also if you walk down to the Marina and Try" Jacks American Style restaraunt" you wont be dissapointed.
Only one down fall about hotel was 2.50euros for the Sunbeds.
The rooms where basic enough but they where cleaned an impressive 4 times out of a 7night/6 day stay so i would have no complaints on the cleanliness side.Entertainment for the kids during the day was fantastic and likewise the evening entertainment was highly enjoyable also.
All in all for a family holiday with a great location you wont get much better than Sol Timor

We got this holiday as a late booking through a travel agent about 3 days before departure, so were not expecting too much. However, when we arrived, the staff were lovely and the location was fabulous.

We requested 'not on the ground floor' (to avoid the having direct access tot he apt. from the pool area) but were allocated an apartment on the lowest floor. When we complained (without having first seen the apartment), the staff offered to move us the next day (it being about 1am when we arrived), so I can't fault their responsiveness. However, as the hotel is built on a hill, the lower floor (if you're in the main block) is actually about 1 floor up from the pool area, so we were OK in the end.

On the general area, the hotel is right on the edge of Torremolinos, bordering the Benalmadena marina. I'd recommend heading for the marina, there's a great buzz there and the food was fantastic (though a bit dearer than in Torremolinos). The beach is fantastic, clean, and safe. Also, it's right outside the hotel, just across the pedestrian promenade. The park (Tivoli World) is not great, when we went, most rides, we were the only people on them. If you've been to either Port Aventura in Salou or any Disney, you'll be disapointed. Overall, the general area is nice, but not overwhelming.

The biggest plus we found with the hotel is the kids entertainment. It's amazing. We traveled with a 7 year old and a 1 year old. Obviously the 1 year old stayed with us, but my other son was busy the entire holiday (general activities, hide&seek, archery, painting, races, chasing, etc.).

By the way, there's also an adult entertainment programme.

Now, the negatives. You pay for your sunbeds (€2.50 on the grounds, or €4 at the beach). There is however plenty of room on the beach and the grounds to set up your airbed or towel without needing a sunbed, so you DO have the choice to pay or not.

The rooms _are_ fairly basic (and small). and the balconies barely fit a table and 2 plastic chairs.

Overall, I'd very highly recommend the hotel as a place for families with young kids. For others, I can't really say!
