As stated in previous reviews, the hotel itself is very clean and has a beautiful reception area, with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff. The hotel grounds are very pretty. Unfortunately, the hotel comprised 99% Spanish residents and their families, with entertainment in Spanish (day and night). A "Mr & Mrs" type of competition was not in the least appealing, especially in Spanish. Food was OK, but not worth rushing to the dining room for. Invariably what should have been hot food was cold and not very appetising. Breakfast times were chaotic (a bit like the Alamo!). Price for a bottle of water €1.75 in the dining room. Due to the hotel location, the excellent train service was a lifeline for us, or being prepared for a 30 - 40 min walk, to Torremolinos centre. The area of Los Alamos is very residential, with some beautiful properties, and one supermarket 5 minutes away (not quite sure of their opening times, though).

On the whole, I would not choose to return to the Royal Costa, for the reasons given above, but, this is our 3rd visit to Costa del Sol and would recommend Torremolinos.

Stayed at the Royal Costa for 5 nights in March 2007. Warm welcome from reception staff who spoke very good English.

Rooms are very clean, towels changed daily. The bath/shower configeration is a little bit difficult to enter/exit.

Bar staff are a delight very friendly and accomodating your wishes etc.

Restaurant was clean and very well organised. The food was a little bit repetitive but plenty of choice. The hot meals could have been kept a little bit hotter as a couple of times the chips were cold etc.

Pool area and gardens are a gardeners delight.

Only a short walking distance from train station Los Alamos with stops to Malaga, Torremolinos and the airport all at a very cheap rate of around 2 euros per journey. Frequent trains every 1/2 hour buy your ticket on the station machine is in english and easy to understand.

Just returned from a five night break at the above Hotel.
What an excellent stay we had!
The Hotel is very well decorated and furnished, spotlessly clean, very comfortable with very friendly staff.
The food was wonderful and the service in the restaurant could not be faulted.
The Hotel is in a quiet residential area but near enough to enjoy the facilities of the beach, the shops and the bars of torremolinos. The train station nearby made it easy for us to visit
other areas of the Costa Del Sol eg. Malaga, Feungirola and Benalmedina.
The entertainment of an evening was good although at this time of the year it was aimed at the older resident not a place for teenagers or young children although i am sure in the height of summer the programme would reflect a younger audience.
As a couple requiring a sunshine break we could not have chosen a better Hotel. We would certainly return.
Well done to the Royal Costa Hotel.

myself and a friend stayed here recently on a girls weekend.
the hotel itself is absolutely brilliant. very clean. the rooms are cleaned daily and new towels brought (but only if the old ones are left on the floor). the staff are very friendly and nice and really went out of their way to make you feel welcome.
however i found two bad points - the first being the food, there was not much selection and what was on offer wasn't very appetising. the second being it is quite near the airport and with planes arriving and leaving literally every minute can be quite noisy. the other thing is it is not in the centre of torremolinos and there is not much round the hotel. to have a good night out you had to get a taxi into the centre which cost about 8 euros or go to benalmadena which cost roughly 14 euros. also the beach was about 15 minutes walk.
