Hotel is part of a complex - Don Marco, Don Pablo and Don Pedro - so all facilities can be used at any of the hotels. Location is great, right on the sea front.
The Don Marco is the quieter of the 3 and doesnt really offer any entertainment, it's based in the other 2 hotels.
Walk into town takes about 10 minutes either walking up the hill or by the sea front and up the steps.. But plenty shops/bars/restaurants around so no need to go into town.
When we checked in we were offered a sea view at no extra charge but on the 1st floor - we said yes, and even tho this was the same floor as the pool/sun deck this wasn't a problem as the glazing was double/treble glazed so quiet.
The free wi-fi is great, altho our room was on the front it didnt pick up a signal so we had to go down into the lounge or use the hotels internet sessions which ere E1 for 15 mins, which isnt bad.
Breakfast was OK - I've had better at other SOL 4 star hotels. The room was busy and shared with the Don Pablo. We were only bed and breakfast so can't comment on the lunch/dinner.
There are 9 pools to choose from but the Don Marco is the quietest as the others have aqua or pools games (polo) most of the day. There is a varied entertainment and activtity programmer for adults and children within the complex - but don't let this put you off if you are looking for a quieter break as the Don Marco pool was much quieter as no activties in the hotel.
The room was great with 2 single beds puched together. Bathroom had bath and seperate shower which was nice and towels were changed daily. There is a free fridge in the room and pay safe. TV had many channels including BB1, sky news, CNN and More4 - so always something in English.
The parking has its own underground car park which charge E15 a night - but even tho it was summer and peak season we still found a space on the road outsice every night.
The front desk staff were great - the females in perticular very friendly and offered great customer service.
There is a pool towel hire service E10 deposit per towel refundable at the end. E1 if you want to change for a clean towel - saves having to carry towels.
We booked via Alpha rooms who offered a great rate but being high season we still paid E80 a night.
Torremolinos is not the 'Brit' resort it used to be, and caters for Spanish and Irish these days, but there are still a few Brit bars dotted around.
We chose this hotel because we are sol/melia MAS reward club members and even tho it was 4* we have stayed in better SOl 4* in Spain.
