Great little hotel in the centre of Palma shopping area, 5-10 minute walk to harbour, very clean and tidy especially for the price, staff very helpful, highly recommend.

Palma is a great location for a weekend break, enjoy the old town and bars and then end down to the sea front and hit the clubs, Palma is open late.

“Mainly positive,but...”

Hotel Mision de San Miguel

28 Mar 2008

We spent 2 days in Palma. Lovely tastefully decorated and fitted room with excellent rain shower. Hotel itself very attractive -minimalist. Could have done with more info about air con etc in the room but there is a notice telling you to just ask. We were disappointed with the breakast however as we were just presented with 2 cups of white coffee -not asked what we would like, (certainly not pots of tea or coffee ) The breakfast was not really ample and there was very little choice of bread. You got the feeling that if you asked for anything you would have to pay extra. In fact we witnessed one gentleman having to sign for an egg! Also we found it difficult to find a restaurant nearby that was open in the evening. Incidentally give the Italian 'Il Grotto' in the Plaça Mayor a miss. We were served spaghetti alla pomodora which must have come straight out of a Heinz can! But it was the only place open. That night it was thundering so we didn't want to walk right down to the harbour where there was probably more choice. We loved Palma - it's a beautiful walkable city. And we went on the normal service bus No 210 to Port Soller (3 Euros 85) and back on the 211Express (2 Euros 70). Amazing value for money and the scenery on the way was out of this world. Port Soller is gorgeous. If we'd had more time we would have made more bus journeys.

“Great Hotel”

Hotel Mision de San Miguel

We stayed at this hotel early March and were not disappointed.
The rooms are extremely clean and not a bad size for city centre.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly also.
We were blessed with fantastic weather for all three days of our stay which obviously helps.
Palma is a great city for walking, shopping and sightseeing. It is a bit of a walk to the nicest restaurants but the hotel will always call you a cab if your legs can't make it after a days walking.
We especially like the Cappuccino cafe bars and it's Minimar restaurant down in Portixol.
We did try the hotel restaurant and were not entirely impressed but maybe we picked badly as the menu was in Spanish and the waitress had trouble translating. We were one of only two couples in there and felt it lacked atmosphere but it was early in the season.
We will definately return next time we are in Palma.

“Fantastic Place!”

We stayed here Feb 08. Chose the hotel for it's city location and generally great reviews. It was fantastic, right from check-in the staff could not do enough for us. A great welcome, a great room, comfy beds and the shower to die for! (I couldn't get the mrs out of it!) The hotel was spotlessly clean and the resturant really excellent. We tried lots of different places to eat but the best meals we had were in the hotel resturant. The view from our room was exactly what you would expect of a city hotel but perfectly okay.
Some reviews were critical of the access to the hotel, finding it and the alley. Well, we were lucky enough to find a taxi driver to take us from the airport (dont do busses with suitcases whilst on hols!) to within 10 yards of the hotel entrance (pre bookable on the net, the guy was great! spoke good english and picked us up promptly from the hotel courtyard. email me for his addy)
We loved the shops, the city, the atmosphere, the shops, the buildings, the weather, the hotel, oh and did i mention the shops! Had really fantastic short break. Will definately do it again.
It truely is a little oasis in the old city centre.
Ideal for all couples, any age!

This is a great little hotel, great location. If arriving by car, trust your satnav - you arrive down a residents-only alley and have to cross a pedestrian-only street where the only exit appears to be a staircase! Very simply furnished in a modern minimalist style with a few good old pieces of furniture. Flat-screen TVs, excellent bathrooms, trendy bar and restaurant. Dinner good, didn't have breakfast - seemed expensive (but where isn't that true!). Within a few minutes walk of the Plaza Major and the outstanding Fundacio la Caixa galleries.
