Most of the recent reviews mention the high standard of service and I can confirm that even during the Easter weekend when the hotel was fully booked the staff of the Reina Isabel were admirably efficient and friendly. Our room, a triple, was very comfortable and well kept and the facilities, including free parking and free access to fitness and sauna were appreciated by myself and my children. A few years ago I stayed at another nearby hotel of the same category and I found the Reina Isabel to be far superior.

“Lovely hotel”

This was a lovely hotel. My friend and I stayed here after booking online and getting a great price for the hotel. The pool area was a little cramped but overall a really nice area. The staff were all really helpful and the beach just across the path outside the hotel, was lovely. The hotel has a medium to well equipt gym on the top floor, So you can admire the views as you run. The hotel also has a turkish bath and various other facilities that are available to guests. The hotel is quite formal, and there is a dress code for breakfast etc. which I thougt was good. The HB programme is good, the food was lovely and the breakfast abundant, including Smoked Salmon and capers. Champagne and many different juices were also available at breakfast time. I absolutely loved my stay here. Bedroom was a resonable size and design and bathroom was clean and stylish, although not very large. The hotel was very clean.

Location was not brilliant although close to a really good shopping centre, with really good shops, Zara etc. and the science museaum that has a cool robotic. We did go to pacha, the night club(a short taxi ride away), and thought that it was ok but not fantastic, drinks are expensive in the club.

My husband and I stayed at Reina Isabel during January 19 - 26 and we were very satisfied with our choice of a hotel. We had a sea facing room 575 and could listen to the soothing sounds of the sea while enjoying the scenery.

The hotel staff - especially the two blonde ladies at the reception - were always nice and helpful. The room was cleaned every day to our complete satisfaction. I have no complaints whatsoever, our room was spacious and well, a little bit outdated, but who cares!

The breakfast was fabulous, we did not have any other meals at the hotel. Instead we picked up the restaurants in the Las Canteras avenue. I could specifically recommend restaurant Gallo - I just loved their "stroganoff", which was heavenly. The other restaurant to recommend is "The Laughing Pig", the only minus was that our waiter could not speak one word of English, still we got exactly what we ordered.

There was a carnival at Santa Catalina park during our stay and it was nice to look at the beautiful dresses and watch and listen to the samba dancers.

Las Canteras Beach was clean and even though the water was quite cold, we were able to swim anyway (well - we come from Finland, so the cold waters are not unfamiliar to us ;)

My husband and I were going to a wedding in Las Palmas and booked this hotel for a couple of weeks over the Christmas and New Year period.
It is big but friendly. I think it is in the best position of all the other hotels as it is near the centre but on the beach. It has its own bit of the beach and the sunbeds are free if you are in the hotel.
There is free computer access which is always a bonus I think.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
Although we only had breakfast there which was excellent and the options were many, the other meals looked really good.
The pool is on the roof and has a view one one side of the beach and sea and on the other the town.
Try not to get a town side room as the locals seem to stay up all night and get up at about 4.0am. Very very noisy.
That is my only complaint.
Just walk out of the hotel and within a minute there are lots of bars and restaurants along the front.
I will definately go there again. Probably around the same time as the sun was great and temp around 22 c average.

Our last trip out to Las Palmas was twenty years ago in the late 80's,
so we were anticipating a shock to the system and our memories. Not so, it was meeting a dear old friend again. Splendid setting on Las Cantaries beach and recently refurbed promenade, surrounded by great bars, resturantes and of course an easy stroll from the bustling heart
of Las Palmas city center. An added bonus at this time of year Christmas was the very pleasnt lack of screaming and uncontrolled children. Ideal for that winter top up of sun with clean safe beach, medium flight time and excellent staff on hand. Go on spoil yourself
