My girlfriend and i both 23 stayed here for a week and aside from a very cranky bar man who got nick named crazy man for the week we were there, this resort was Excellent, a taxi ride to peurto del carmen was no more than €4 both ways and under €10 to the airport. ants were a problem in our appartment, however we were there for a wedding and all the guests stayed at costa sal and 90% of the other appartments had no problem, cock roaches were never seen indoors, the staff were very helpful in every regard, internet access in reception was €1 for every 10 mins, a day trip to rancho texas is well recomended at €15 per adult and €10 per child and infants free its a brilliant experience included in the price is a parrot, eagle and sealion show which is funny and entertaining for all ages, shops and restaurants are all a short walk away, if i go back ill be booking into costa sal again.

Spent 7 days in the costa Sal with my wife in May 08. This was the 7th.visit to this complex since 2002. They put us into a first floor appartment which had problems with water pressure. Water was cold if sun was not out as it was heated via Solar Panels.
They also de frosted the fridge and water was flowing all over kitchen floor when we arrived.
The complex has become very run down with little maintance or painting being done. Cleaning is also not as good as in previous years.

On the plus side you get kettle,toaster,Coffee maker, & hair dryer supplied and is very secure. Security staff come on every night @ 11.00 pm until 8.00 am following morning.This is of major importance as lots of appatment complex have been broken in to mostly around PDC & Playa Blanca.
Lots of car paring if you hire. Very quiet and very suitable for young children. PDC is only one euro bus fare away if you want action.

My husband, son 24, and myself are just back from a week in the Costa Sal apartments. we actua;;y stayed inthe bungalows and found them excellent for our needs. The bungalows have their own swimming pool which is spotless and not noisy at night. The bungalow was clean and had all you need. Beds were not very comfortable but OK for a week. Cleaning was sketchy but again we weren't there too much so it was fine. The receptionist was excellent and one of the best I have come accross. Her English was very good and nothing was too mcuh bother. The restaurant and bar were very poor with no athmosphere but with the small shopping centre across the road and just 5euro to the centre of the resort by taxi we didn't use it very much. If you were there with small childrena and didn't want to move out of the area it might have been a disapppointment however. Overall the location if great if you want a quiet week away with short taxi rides to more active entertainment

I stayed in the Costa Sal in May 2007 and enjoyed it so much that I am returning in August 2008. I am a great fan of Matagorda as I like to stay in a relatively quiet area with the nightlife close by. Puerto Del Carmen is a short taxi ride away which will cost approx 5 euro. I really liked the location of the Costa Sal apartments as they were a short walk to both the beach and the centre in Matagorda. The pool area and the gardens of the complex (which is quite large) are extermely well maintained and attractive. However the apartment itself could be given some attention and do require some level of update, they are very large though with beautiful terraces/balconies so it depends on how much time you spend indoors. I didnt drink or dine in the complex as I have favourite restaurants in the harbour.
