Booked the Casablanca Apartments for a week holiday in April. Flew into North airport and decided to try Puerto de la cruz. Apartments were in a nice complex, nice enough pool area etc. The apartment in my opinion was in need of modernisation, clean enough although was smelling strongly of tobacco when we arrived. Furniture is dated and wardrobes were broken, some kitchen units broken etc. The apartment did not live up to reviews I have read on tripadvisor.

Puerto de la cruz was also in need of investment. I would always choose traditional over a very touristy area as a Spanish speaker. However this resort will not suit anyone who would like some entertainment in the evening. It is meal and bed or wait till a disco opens at 1 in morning. As a couple in 30's entertainment was non exsistent. We actually left after 2 days and went south. As I said we were not looking for discos just somewhere for a nice drink.

What a fabulous complex, spotlessly clean, light and airy apartments which were so well equipped with all home comforts and everything you could possibly need......iron and ironing board, hairdryer, sandwich maker and coffee machine with filters provided, they even had washing up liquid and tea, milk, water, wine and flowers waiting for you when you arrived...such a nice touch

The maid service is daily apart from a Sunday and nothing was too much trouble for the staff, all very welcoming and friendly

The bar/restuarant offers a snack type menu and has evening entertainment which was great, ideally located but be prepared for a workout when you walk into town with over a 100 steps to walk down and up (ideal for burning off all those extra calories you tend to eat when on hols!) Great little supermarket literally next door to the complex for all your basics and a larger one down the steps

Can thoroughly recommend this place and would definately return

“Excellent Value”

Stayed here early March 2008 for a week to get some Winter sun. Apartments were exactly as reviews on this site suggested. Spacious (we had a 1 bed apartment and it was plenty large enough), clean, bright and well equipped. Could probably do with a bit of an overall update (e.g. bathroom was clean and neat, but could be modernised) but difficult to criticise.
Pool a bit small for the size of complex, but didn't seem to be an issue to people staying there.
The bar was functional in that it serves drinks, but not welcoming at all - they need to learn to turn the lights down a bit. Food in the hotel was a bit pub-grub I felt, but reasonably priced and adequate.
Two large supermarkets within an easy walk, and the rest of the town an easy 5 minutes further on.
Best restaurant in Puerto would be Casa Miranda - by a long way - cheaper than most of the 'tourist' ones, and better quality food and setting.

We stayed for a week in a lovely spacious, well-equipped spotless apartment. The staff were all very helpful. On-site restaurant with limited menu but very nice food nicely served. Plenty of more varied restaurants within easy walking distance - though most of them involve walking down 200 steps - and back up afterwards. Or we could have eaten in more, if we had wanted to bother to cook; everything you might need was there in the kitchen. Two big supermarkets nearby, also plenty of other shops. Nice open-air pool with sun loungers. We had a hired car, and splashed out extra 3 euros a night for the underground parking, but possible with some effort to find parking spaces elsewhere, and if you do find a space it's always free. But plenty to do around if you have no car. Some families, but most of the other tourists in the whole town seemed to be over 40. But I think anyone would enjoy it. Spring-time weather all year round, they said, and it certainly was true in February.

We booked this holiday on the net a week before departure. Thomas Cook - My Travel.

The apartment was fantastic. we had a view of the pool and inner complex. Clean and well furnished. TV movie channel, news, itv and sky one amongst many other channels.Balcony. Bottle of wine, water, fruit basket and small amount milk and coffee left for us. A superb touch. The complex is very large and lacks any outside views. Bar was OK. Reception OK. Pool and pool area quite small. Pool not child friendly as no toys allowed. There was a games room but most things cost money. Pool tables etc.

The steps.......they are hard work. But there are shops and a bar on route and a few benches..
Puerto De La Cruz is really something. Martinez beach is small but stunning. Lots surfing due to waves which I sat and watched for hours. Usual selection of bars, restaurants, Mc. Donalds etc etc.
The lido is very attractive but will cost 3.50 euros to enter then 1.50 for sun bed.
We had really sunny hot weather for most of the week. Plenty to do.Lots supermarkets.
Teide tour is a must we paid 27 each but it was all day trip. Take a jumper because it is cold up the mountain.
The blue lagoon chip shop next to the apartments has lots of positive comments but I thought it was really overpriced. 7.50 for fish n chips 850 for larger portion. We didnt go back. Average cost meal 6.00
