....however a very disappointing experience. Entrance to hotel is shabby which also doubles as bar and entertainment room with nowhere near enough seats/table for guests. No lifts to rooms and staircase at back of hotel - not a great first impression. We just spent the New Year week at Bahia Flamingo and paid £896 all inclusive (flights and transfer were additional) so expected a good hotel and great experience. Room was basic although kept very clean - we had spacious twin room, lounge for extra bed and bathroom. However the room next to us which was a double was very small. View from the balcony was stunning with great sunsets. Where the hotel fell down was restaurant and entertainment. Food reminded us of school dinners - edible but not inspiring. Puddings and breakfast were a disaster. Gala dinner on Old Years night however was a vast improvement. If we hadn't paid so much money for all inclusive we would have eaten out most nights (and plenty of the guests did). Staff throughout the hotel (with exception of one receptionist) did save the day and all inclusive drinks were fine apart from frozen red wine in restaurant. Swimming pool never got used as was colder than ice (if that's possible!!) so plenty of congestion around the pool with sun-beds. Pool and table tennis kept us occupied.
The resort is quiet but a great beach and supermarket in Playa de la Arena, and stunning coastal walk to Los Gigantes a few miles away. Would recommend the Whale/shark trip from the marina - but go on one of the speedboats.
In summary we won't be returning - probably because we are used to better quality and standards - but if the price is right for a 3star hotel I wouldn't advise against it.
