First visit to Barcelona and we travelled with friends who had visited twice. The hotel is ideally placed for all the tourist areas and is a one minute walk from Las Ramblas. The rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast is more than enough with both hot and cold selection.
Las Ramblas- great location for people watching and entertainment BUT watch your bags as there are down and outs/beggars wandering about. They don't pester you. The food and drink on the main street is very expensive but if you wander down one of the many side streets you will find plenty of nice eating/drinking places which are considerably cheaper. There is every food you could ever want.
The Harbour area- really nice again with plenty of places to eat and drink at various prices.
Open Top Bus Tour- We paid 27 euro per persn for a two day ticket which is excellent value for money. The buses start at 9am and run till 8pm. There is a red tour and a blue tour so we did one tour each day. They visit all the tourist locations and you can hop on and off as often as you like. Very good value for money! The only advice I would give is that it's worth making and early start as by lunch time the buses get very busy.
All in all a great hotel which is ideally situated but please watch out for the beggars etc and a strong "NO" is all you need to say and they will leave you alone.
Also FREE internet access in reception.

My three friends & I celebrated our Golden Birthdays in this fabulous city. The hotel was ideal as it is literally one minute walk on to the Ramblas and for just walking and wondering up and down the Ramblas and people watching.
Breakfast was more than adequate with both hot and cold food available. We went and bought boxes of mixed fruits from the Main Market next door for 1.5 Euro which kept us going on the Guide Tour bus of the city.
Rooms were clean and tidy and all the hotel staff were very friendly, pleasant and polite.
The two bars in the square were good and the one next to the Church served good cocktails.

Great location, just of La Rambla and in two minutes walk of the reat Metro system - don't forget to buy a "book" of 10 tickets that you can use on the metro and on the buses. You can go to the same places as the tour buses and at a fraction of the cost.

The hotel faces onto Placa San Augusti and yes there are some down and outs that frequent the square - probably because the church provides free meals for them - but we did not find them threatening. The rooms are good with plenty of space and a comfy bed. The soundproofing is not great, but if you read these reviews, you come armed with some ear plugs!

Breakfast was more than adequate. Cereals, yoghurts, variety of bread, cold cuts and cheese and a hot dish too. I agree the juice is awful, but have found similar all over southern Europe. Fresh fruit would have been good and with a fantastic market almost next door it would not have been too difficult to provide.

Overall a good hotel at a good price in a good location

This was my second time at this hotel, I thought it was a very good standard of accomodation for a 3* The rooms were trendy and very clean and the breakfast was good.

The location is fab as is just a few mins walk from la rambla. I would def stay here again if I go back to Barcelona
