“Modern elegant but a bit out of town”

This is a modern Hotel to the North of the city. It is in a suburb dominated by the conference centre and the largest shopping mall in Barcelona. There isnt a lot to do near the hotel, but it is right next to a tram line and an underground station, so you can be in the heart of the city in a few minutes.

Its is a shame not to stay right in the heart of the city, so this would not be my first choice, but it is clean, modern with friendly staff. Overall not bad.

Stayed here on 27-30 Dec and was well impressed. We were on 20th Floor with a City view. If you get the choice of sea/city view like us it has to be City. You could see the whole of Barcelona including many of the sights including Sagrada Familia. The rooms are really modern. There are electronic blinds covering the huge windows which look out over the city.

If you dont like heights the glass elevator might worry you a bit but we loved it. Nice bar on the ground floor with decent prices. The free mini bar in the room is stocked each day with one estrella beer, coke, fanta and two waters.

Breakfast was really good. Lots of choice, good food, nice dining room. The earlier you go the better as some things ran out after 10am.

We took the metro everywhere. The Maresme Forum station is two mins walk from the hotel and its about 6/7 stops to the edge of the Barri Gotic. Get T10 tickets - 10 trips for about 7 EUR.

Barcelona:-

We did the camp nou tour. Well worth the money. Got the metro from hotel to Collblanc station. Then its about 10 min walk.

Took the cable car to Montjuic Castle. The views are superb from up there.

Eating and Drinking in barcelona can be hit and miss. Restaurants are generally quite small in the barri gotic area. We found them quite full and cramped. Dont go to TAPAS GAUDI which is on a street off Las Ramblas. This place wasn't full, probably because they serve awful luke warm tapas.

“Stylish hotel for New Year”

London, United Kingdom

We stayed at this hotel with friends for New Year 2008 and had a great time. Upon checking in it did appear that they didn't have our rooms; however I think this was more down to Expedia's fault than the hotel's and was swiftly resolved by the multi-lingual check in staff.

We stayed in a normal room and it was great - very clean, free mini-bar, views of the sea and a super king bed. There was no bath. but the shower was powerful with extra jets.

The only bar open when we were there was the Corner bar on the ground floor - this was probably more to the time of year - it was nice and clean with friendly, helpful staff.

If you're staying here for business then you probably can't do better. If you're staying for personal holiday, then it's very nice and I would recommend it. If you're after an intimate, cosy, boutique-style hotel, then this probably doesn't quite fit the bill.

“Good, but a bit far out”

I booked B&B through Alpharooms for my son and I.

Checking In and Checking Out was pleasant and efficient.

Room clean with good bathroom facilites and comfortable beds, though those unused to firm beds may not consider that to be the case. There is also a free mini bar with soft drinks

Breakfast was the usual extensive buffet found in many hotels, though all I wanted was a plain croissant (not available) and a coffee. Not worth the €19 it was advertised at. Dinner looked very expensive so we chose to eat in the centre of Barcelona

The hotel is quite far out from the centre of Barcelona, and although there is a good Metro service and bus service (no 7 goes to Passieg de Gracia) it felt like we were forever travelling. Next time we go, we will probably look for accommodation more central

“what a cool hotel!”

This is a VERY cool hotel - I have to say I loved it. The location is a bit out of the city centre but there is a metro stop about 100m away from the hotel and a tram stop just up the road also so the distance shouldnt be a problem. it is right next door to a huge shopping centre and food court. There is also a lovely quiet beach a short distance away by foot. The views from the room are amazing. Huge big windows provide you with a fabulous view over the city. The pools are quite small I have to say but they are lovely to sit and relax at after a long hot day shopping/sight-seeing. I have recommended this hotel to loads of my friends.
