I stayed on a business trip and could not fault the hotel. My room was very luxurious in the main building, staff exceptionally helpful and breakfast very good. No hesitaion to recommend if you are looking for luxury.

For the 3dr time I've been there to celebrate the New Year. It's a great hotel, very modern, clean and nice staff.

They have 2 types of rooms. Normal hotel rooms, were you have a nice plasma TV, bathroom, a table and 2 chairs. You can also stay in small houses, were you have a private garage, living room with a nice plasma in the middle floor and on the top floor the room, as I described before, but of course smaller.

It's a nice hotel, so nice that I have some fear to change place to change the year...

We stayed for 3 nights, looking at Santiago and other places. The hotel sits on an elevated position overlooking the town, but behind that is a row of rooms that are more like small town houses, which is what we were booked into. You have your own covered garage space, from which you enter the ground floor, which contains a reasonable size sitting room with a large flat screen TV and off that is a verandah looking on to the gardens.

You then go upstairs to a very well appointed attractive bedroom (ANOTHER big flat screen TV) with a good bathroom.

All very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The downside is no real view from the bedroom, and the whole apartment is rather dark.

I imagine the rooms in the main hotel are much lighter and would have good views. If this is important to you check which part of the hotel you will be in. We couldn't get wi-fi reception and had to use the main hotel lounge for that. (It's free).

We don't normally eat in hotels, preferring the local restaurants, but did eat one night in the hotel restaurant and had a really excellent meal at a very reasonable price.

The grounds are beautiful and with an army of gardeners and maintenance people swarming around it's difficult to see how the hotel makes money, as it didn't seem very full (in August) and has a free minibus there at your beck and call to take you into town, so the location out of town (about 10 minutes) isn't a problem.

We'd definitely go back.

My Boyfriend and I stayed in Los Abetos for 1wk in August. We traveled from Dublin. When i booked this hotel i was surprised on how cheap the rooms were and i was a little apprehensive before we traveled, I thought that it may not be as good as it looked and offered on the website. I thought it was too good to be true!

We stayed in a Junior suite in a separate building opposite the main hotel building. This suite was like a duplex mini apartment, it contained a living area downstairs with an impressive plasma TV/fridge with mini bar /balcony facing front of the hotel and upstairs we had a lovely bathroom/shower and a lovely comfortable bedroom with another plasma screen and safety deposit box. The plasma screens were a great surprise for us and they were used daily as the Olympics in Beijing were on!

Our room was cleaned from top to bottom each morning. The reception staff were nice and tried their best to communicate with us as English is obviously not their 1st language. Check in went very smoothly and the staff were always helpful and friendly.

Breakfast was excluded in the price...we availed of the hotel breakfast 3 times. It was buffet style. There was a great selection of food, it cost approx €13 euro per person. We thought this was pricey enough as food in Santiago was quite cheap. However it really did set us up for the day, plus you could eat as much as you liked!
We had dinner in the hotel on our first night, we did not return again for the remainder of our holiday. We didn't really like the menu (it was mostly fish) and the food was only okay considering the meal cost us €72 (including 2starters, 2 main courses, 1 dessert and 1 bottle of wine) Expensive in comparison to restaurants in Santiago. But you can't comment on it until you try it for yourself i guess!! Everyone has different tastes in food!

The shuttle bus was fantastic.......the driver drove you to and from the town efficiently. It was an ideal service........we were dropped off in the centre of town. When you wanted to be collected all you had to do was phone the hotel. The journey was only 7 minutes. A taxi would cost rough €5 and they are always readily available. The shuttle service ended at 11pm so it was cheap to get a taxi home after 11pm.It was great to be staying outside of the town up on hill with lovely scenery

The hotel is located on the right side of town to go to and from the airport. The standard taxi fare from the airport to the hotel was €17.50. it was a ice short journey.

The pool area was really lovely and very clean. The weather was warm and sunny some days and overcast other days. One disadvantage was the pool was not heated, it was fairly cold. This was disappointing as the hotel advertise it as being a heated pool. We got over it tho.

I loved out apartment but we did not having tea/coffee making facilities, this was disappointing as we were avid tea/coffee fans esp. at night time.

Overall these are only tiny tiny faults.....I would definitely return to this hotel and would recommend it to anybody wanting to stay in Santiago.
