We took this tour on our first night in Madrid, May 10. That day we tried our luck with tapas in the afternoon at a restaraunt in Santa Ana Square. It was dissapioning and we started to worry the food on this trip wasn't going to be very good after all.
After an afternoon nap, we went to meet Andres and a group of friendly British people.
The quality and quantity of food we had was stupendous. We are beer drinkers, but it was great to taste so many different wines and Andres would let you judge which wine was best, and show you how different wines can compliment different foods. On our own, we would never have been exposed to such fine foods and wines.
We wound up having some great conversation and Andres kept things moving at a perfect pace. He was a perfect host and made sure our glasses were never empty. The tour lasted to almost midnight but it seemed more like an hour.
