Sorolla was Spain's eminent post-impressionist. He was from Valencia, and many of his paintings are scenes of fishermen and other people in Valencia on the beaches , experiencing the sea and the sun. Sorolla had a lot of success in his life, and you can feel that here, in his Madrid home. On a very busy street, you enter into what is essentially a Sevillian garden. Inside you can see the artists studio with easels and brushes, and there are many artifacts of his life. Also many beautiful paintings of his wife and daughters. In addition to material success it is clear that he had a wonderful family life. There is a palpable feeling of love left behind inside these walls. This is one of my favorite places in Madrid,
