Stayed at the Suites Viena for 3 nights of Easter weekend, and had a great experience. The room was large by urban standards and immaculately clean with nice furniture, bathroom and other amenities. Free internet is available - they'll give you a cable for your laptop or you can use the computer in the lobby. Breakfast was included, even though we did not choose it when booking, and it was pretty good (not worth paying for though, in my opinion).

The location was convenient, right by the Plaza de Espana (with metro connection to airport, with 1 transfer), and nearby the historic part of town and the Gran Via shopping area. We walked almost everywhere we went.

The only downside was that most of the restaurants/bars in the immediate neighborhood were closed for the holiday weekend, but it wasn't a big deal.

We stayed at the Suites Viena for 2 nights in March. I found the the hotel to be very clean and the staff were very accommodating.
The hotel is located on a side street and buses / coaches cannot get close enough to load / unload.
It is somewhat modern and therefore has minimum carpets. This is realy a plus for cleanliness reasons but sometimes makes the hotel a little louder than usual.
The breakfast was sufficient but could have been a little warmer.
I have stayed in many hotels in Madrid and would recommend this hotel as a plus.

We booked this hotel because the good reviews here, the location and the price. We weren't disapointed. We had the metro from the airport which was only 2 euro for one person. We had the plaza espana station and from there is was about 3-5 minutes walk to the hotel. The staff was very friendly. When we checked in we became a map of Madrid and very willing to guide us on the map to all the major and minor sites of Madrid. The room is small but everything you need is available and spotless clean and you have a kitchen. The flat screen TV has 10 channels in espanol, but who cares! You are in Madrid! The location is very good just of the centre, wich can be very hectic, in a very quit and safe neighbourhood. Just 5 minutes walk to the royal palace and plaza oriente. The plaza del sol for about 15 minutes walk. The Prado museum will take you about 35 minutes walk and when you are lazy take the metro. Have breakfast in the cafe Viena on the corner for a cup of coffee, huge pastry or there breakfast specials for about 3 euros. If you want a drink before dinner go to Viga Mar's it is in the same street and you will pass it if you go to the plaza espana. Only 1 euro for a small beer or glass of wine and you get some tapas too! in this little bar were locals meet. We enjoyed our stay here very much and was perfect for us. Next time we come back here.

Suites Viena was the perfect base for a trip to Madrid. I can only assume that the 3-star status is due to the fact that it's a limited service hotel (i.e. there's no bar, restaurant etc.) as the quality and comfort of the surroundings definitely deserve a higher rating. Also, the quiet location a minutes walk from the Plaza de Espana was ideal as it gave quick access to the centre of Madrid while also providing an escape from the crowds. There are a number of bars, restaurants and grocery shops nearby so you won't go hungry - for the less adventurous, there's also a Starbucks and some well-known fast food outlets a couple of blocks away!

I spent a little extra and booked one of the junior suites (room 603) with terrace, and I feel it was worth the money. The room itself was very spacious and the furnishings comfortable; although the huge bed was indeed two smaller (yet full-size) beds put together, the 'join' could barely be felt. The terrace was a great bonus, providing a private space to enjoy the last of the days warmth while relaxing before heading out for the evening. As a previous reviewer mentioned you can't really do much with the small kitchen area, but having the fridge was useful (it includes some mini-bar items) and I'm sure the microwave would come in handy for some. There's also a room service facility in the form of a menu from a local restaurant - they deliver direct to your room, and the pizza is lovely! The hotel provides breakfast too; its quite basic but enough to keep you going til lunch. Having said that, as I'd booked through the hotels own website it was included in the rate; I wouldn't have paid the 12 Euros for it otherwise.

The hotel is also close to good transport links - bus and metro - that make it easy to get around lovely Madrid when your feet can't take any more. The 'Madrid Vision' tour bus has a stop just a block away too. As for getting to the hotel a taxi from the airport cost 25 Euros, which seemed reasonable given the volume of traffic and the time it took, while on the way home I decided to try the AeroCity shuttle service at 20 Euros - I was picked up exactly on time, and the poor driver performed a minor miracle in managing to pick up the next clients AND get us all to the airport on time, given we got caught up in some kind of demonstration in the Puerta del Sol!

Madrid is an amazing place on all sorts of levels and I know I'll be going back soon. While I appreciate that limited service hotels won't be to everyone's taste, and although it's far removed from some of the spectacular 'traditional' hotels in the city, I can't imagine finding a more convenient and comfortable place from which to enjoy Madrid than Suites Viena.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Suites Viena for 2 nights. We are in our early 30s.

Hotel Suites Viena is a very nice and clean hotel. It is furnished with modern furniture and there is a free lockbox available for usage. The bed was two beds (I believe full sized) pushed together. Pillows plush and sheets clean. I didn't get that itchy feeling like there might be bed bugs with this bed. The bathroom was clean with a tub which had half a door to it - first time I had seen this but surprisingly the water didn't go all over the floor.

It is located on a small street near Plaza Espana. There is a school across the street but we did not really notice the noise in the morning - our room was on the fourth floor facing the school. The staff were nice and spoke English. They gave us some good recommendations for places to eat - La Barraca ended up being our favorite place for paella.

It is not right in the middle of the touristy area which we like but it was close enough for us to walk to the Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol within a few minutes.

The hotel is within 2-3 minutes walk to the subway which is in general very easy to use. We paid for a taxi on the way to the hotel which cost 30 euros but used the subway going to the airport for 2 Euro. There is one change but very easy to do even if you don't speak Spanish. If we had known, we would have taken the subway to the hotel as well. We got on at the Plaza Espana stop. There is also a small grocery store within a minute or two of the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel.
