Let me get this straight; the bacalao on offer is very good. BUT this place gets extremely crammed, like, being surrounded by so many people you can't even move an inch. This is what happened when we last were there. So we decided, let's just have a bacalao each, eat it quickly, then leave.... whcih wouldn't have been bad trade for the place, considering that we usually paid around 2,50 Euro for one bacalao (no, we don't know the price, we were never given a bill). Anyway, I made it to the counter, asked for 2 bacalaos and I was told I had to have a drink. I explained that I didn't even have space to move my arm, let alone have this drink with some decent and calm way as not to spill it.... to no avail. We decided we would not leave 5 Euros there and headed to La Labra, which we had always loved to an equal amount. But things were nicer there, there was some outside seating space and we were not forced to buy a drink, although, the evening being so nice, we naturally did.
Considering that a tajada at Labra is 1,25 Euro we got ourselves a very good deal, I suppose, and without an unfriendly barman telling us to gulp down a drink ;)
