Hi,
stayed here 12-17 August.
Booked it because it has wi-fi, so I could stay in touch with my business while away...
Wi-fi connection is poor, had about 30 minutes connection over the 6 days there. I would not go there again if I wish to connect to the internet.
Stayed there with my wife & 5 year old son, in a family room.
Swimming pool is great, my son loved it.
It has a small pool for kids. a jacuzzi - whirlpool, in which anyone can go, so my son loved that too, and a larger pool. The hotel supplied lounger chairs, towels, and for the younger guests, a free beachball and 'penguins' carry bag.
The rooms are spacious, with CNN, a few sport TV channels,
the sofa bed springs can hurt after a few days.
First night we ordered room-service food, french fries and hot meat - chick, burgers, etc.
All arrived cold.
Later in the week we ordered room service and it was lovely, came quicker and food was hot when arrived.
In fairness, the chef / restaurant staff varied from the set menu for us, which was appreciative and very welcome.
Also the hotel has a great deal going with a local Pizza delivery service, the menu is in the room - and by ringing reception, and giving them the order, your order is phoned through by the hotel, PLUS your room number is given, the pizza delivery company delivers straight to your hotel room - great. Menu also has wedges, chicken wings, kebabs, etc...
4th day our swipe card key for the room, stopped working -
the manager at the front desk checked our key and a master key on our door - and could not get either to work... it seems the battery in the lock was low...
Manager said she would get someone to check the locks straight away.
She took our keys to replace them. managed to open the door to the room, so that we could get in.
We waitied in our room, but we never heard from her again, and no one was sent to the room.
I went to the reception later that day, and retrieved one key.
It worked occasionally.
We were leaving the following day, so this lasted until then.
I couldn't be bothered waiting further or arranging anohter key.
Most of the main staff have good english, such as in the restaurant /bar and reception.
Location - walking distance to the Tram which goes directly to Alicante shore, which is superb.
The hotel is about 3/4 mile walk to the Playa San Juan beach - one of the top 3 attractions in Alicante. Once there it was great.
Nearby (15 minutes walk) is also a market area, with restaurants, large supermarket and kids rides. But note, many of these are closed during the day, and only get going from 8pm.
this includes indoor playgrounds for kids - which are closed during the day - i think the idea is - you leave your kids there while you go and eat.
We hired a car, and found 2 large shopping centres - Grand Via (Carrefour) and another with Auchan - can't remember the name.
Overall - a good hotel for a vacation - forget it if you want to do any business from it.
Depite a few hiccups with cold food room service, no room key for our last day, the hotel was good.
