After reading the last review,it was with some anxiety
that we left for a week in this hotel.
I am glad to say that our fears were unfounded ,indeed,
I wonder if the last reviewer stayed at the same hotel.
We checked in at 1-45am ,staff were brisk but polite.
The room we were given was large, with wide beds, a sitting
area and a decent size terrace/balcony.All rooms have a
sea view of sorts, some better than others. Tip 1,try and
get end rooms at front eg 419/414/.
All other areas of hotel were first class ,in fact what you
see on photos is what you get.
To deal with the so called unedible food, whilst its not
gourmet its perfectly acceptable for the price you pay.
Plenty to chose from including a very good salad and
fruit selection.Tip 2 ,avoid the vegetables, as in most hotels,
it wil be overcooked.
It is true to say that the same duo provide the entertainment
but we found them ok. There is an additional act on
Fri/Sat about 11pm, these were two flamenco dancers
and an Argentinian show act when we were there,
As for nobody being there, it was very busy from Thurs to
Sat ,in fact we could not find a seat on the Sat ,and the
lounge is huge.
It also has a large dance floor which seems to be popular
with the locals.
It is true to say that Albir is quiet,at least at this time of
year, but you can easily reach Benidorm/Calpea/Javea
etc by bus , and a 30 min stroll along the front will take you
to Altea .
All in all.a very enjoyable stay and would reccomend this
hotel to all but families with young children.
