I have just come back from a short stay at the Magic Cristal Park Hotel & after reading a selection of reviews prior to our stay, I wanted to review my trip and hopefully provide future visitors with confidence that it isn't as bad as the reviews make out.
The hotel rooms were basic but very, very clean and tidy. the bedlinen was changed daily along daily maid service. We didn't have a balcony, which was slight disappointing. We stayed on an all inclusive basis and the food was good. There was plenty to choose from but it was by no means gourmet standard. The all in drinks were a bit rough, the beer wasn't great and the local spirits were OK but not the best. The general common areas, pool etc were all very clean and nice - plenty of sun loungers and the terraced bar was lovely. Location wise the hotel was spot on - within a few minutes you were at the seafront and the old town was on the door step. We stayed whilst the local Fiesta took place and it was absolutley brilliant and I would recommend a stay during this time! The hotel staff were OK - reception was OK although a couple of staff really couldn't be bothered. On the whole the Magic Cristal is a good basic and clean hotel.

the reviews I have read seem totaly unfounded we met with good
people there. the staff were very good the service was excellent
the food brilliant 24 hour bar let you have a drink at your liesure
the entertainment was really good in the Magic Bar hope they
are there when we return also in the Noche Salon as well .
The room were good and kept clean . Absolutly no bad feedback
looking forward to my next stay there.An added bonus you can use all the hotels in thier group We tried 4 of them and also
found them exellent. The bad reviews from other people I can
only surmise these people don't know exellent value when they

we stayed in this hotel 6 years ago and had a great time. so we decided to book again this year but after reading some of the reviews on this and other sites we were dreading it. however it was great the staff were so friendly in all the bars as well as on reception.
the food was excelent there was some thing diffrent every day my only complaint was that the english puds were the same every day but all the rest did change.
the high light of the week had to be finding the magic cafe, there have been a lot of complaints about the bars so the owners have opened this british cafe it is great. andy and anmarie (him and her) are a british couple and they just made the holiday there was quizes and entertainment every night from these 2, and the staff behide the bar were ace.
we travelled with a 17 year old and a 13 year old after we found this bar on our 2nd night the children didnt want to go anywhere else.
the magic cafe bar is well worth a visit the money spent on this place by the owners was well worth it so dont be put off by bad reveiw try it for yourself and do vistit the cafe.

had a fabulous time!
the food was excellent with seperate dining room for spanish and english both with a good range of hot/cold tasty food
the bars were excellent and the all inclusive card was great.the staff were fantastic especially steve, kim and augustine
the reception staff were polite albeit handtied by jose the manager.one man valerio was excellent without who we would have left the hotel earlier-see below
the entertainment in the new magic cafe hosted by HIM N HER was absolutely brilliant,not only were they talented but could really sing and play a variety of instruments.these two must be the best assets of this hotel and we recommend you see them even if you stay elsewhere.
the inter hotel bus service was mediocre and having let the spanish on first we were left stranded at least once.we saw the driver drive off nearly empty ignoring english banging on the side of the bus.
the rooms were dated but cleaned daily and the genral areas were good with staff pleasant
we have given credit where it is due but:

we booked via thier website and explained by email arriving early am on 27th could we have room from then.no repsponse so booked again via web.got phonecall from reservations 2 days later to say we had 2 bookings explained we had had no response from site so rebooked but confirmed wanted room from early am and told all ok.but still got no confirmation
arrived early am and made to pay extra 80euros for the room the night manager sd take it up with jose the manager in the morning 9am
at 9am we met lianna who sd manager not available come back at 11 then back at 1pm then 5pm then 8pm then come back in morning as very busy man!
this went on for THREE days and we saw him on the evening of that day.how apologetic he was - will look into it - so sorry-had lots of probs with the three hqstaff.he had not seen copy of our booking that clearly showed our request and time of arrival.sd he would spk to lianna to see copy.in the meantime have a gold card on me.
each day we asked lianna what was happening and she sd all papers had gone to hq and jose couldnt see them.come back tommorrow this went on for FOUR DAYS with the result that she went off on holiday and the papers had never left the hotel-WE WERE LIED TOO.
we were then told by another receptionist that jose had sd we had accepted gold cards as compensation-THATS RUBBISH and it seems that anybody who complains gets a gold card.we were told we had the card for 4 days and at a value of 36 euros a day we had done well.we sd what advantages does it have especially for a 13 yr old girl(our daughter) we asked for a menu to show advantages but we were told to ask at the bars. we did.
bar staff at all bars who were excellent sd they have no more menus so cant say you have to order first and if you have to pay you pay-they were as embarrassed as us.
we decided to find out jose's full name as communications had now broken down- he ignored us.
the staff didnt know so we asked at the bars they all sd the same
we dont know his name but we know what he drinks!.we saw him in each bar each day.this is probably why we coulnd get to see him-very busy man!
this MANAGER would be better suited to running a small spanish bar not a three star hotel.
we feel because we were english we were treated like idiots with no respect at all.we were given the complete run arround.we have since found out we should have been entitled to free excursions meals etc but as we had no written confirmation we coulnt go!we intend to take this matter to a higger level and have now establised jose is jose chabar-all hotel staff please note JOSE CHABAR- and await an appology from francisco garcia (jose's boss)
