“What a great choice!”

Room: Bright, clean, modern. We stayed in room 537. We payed extra to have a room on a higher floor and to have a balcony with a full seaview over the Bay of Naples. It was worth the extra cost - the rooms to the 'front' of the hotel look onto a rock face and have no sunlight on their balconies. We woke to see the sun rising over the hills and the bay each morning.

Location: a 10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel. You have to walk up a slight incline to get to the hotel - not advisable to those who do get easily out of breath but it is not a difficult walk. The peace and quiet and the views at the hotel are worth the walk.

Restaurants: Breakfast was spectacular - excellent choice of cooked breakfast, breads, fruits, cereals, cakes and fresh juices.
Dinner in the hotel restaurant was well presented and tasty - we had the half board option which was a 4 course dinner. Drinks cost €5 each.

Grounds: Great indoor pool, lovely orange grove with a super playground and a tennis court.

Day trips: We got the train for a 30 minute train journey to Pompeii. We toured the site WITH A PRAM so it is possible but requires patience. We also got the boat from the port to Capri for the day. Buy your tickets from the port offices or from the tourist info shop near the main Piazza.

We enjoyed the Hilton Sorrento Palace. It was quiet, peaceful and a good choice away from the hustle and bustle of Sorrento scooters!

My husband and I stayed at the Hilton Sorrento and it was a great hotel. The views were beautiful and the hotel is very private. Its just a short walk to the downtown area but I would suggest renting a moped as it was alot of fun. The restaurant is great as well.

Stayed for a week on half board following a tour of Sicily, our second visit. The service was excellent and meals very good, particularly breakfast! We could not afford this sort of service in the UK and all delivered by professional waiters. Book a sea view. Our daughter's single room looked out onto the rock face but was comfortable and we could convene on our terrace overlooking the bay of Naples.
There is a bus every half hour or so from the hotel to the Piazza Tasso and the railway station and the same back again, price one euro each way. plus any other routes within an hour of activating your ticket. Change at the P. Tasso or railway station for the port. Walking is not that bad but the bus was handy when tired or lazy and the traffic is barmy. The hotel is large but its very comfortable and away from the noise of lovely but manic Sorrento. The train is a bargain. Don't book trips - do them yourselves as you'll save a lot of money. Would recommend this hotel.

“The perfect honeymoon”

Hilton Sorrento Palace

19 Apr 2008

My Husband and I spent 2 weeks in the Hilton for our honeymoon and I can not say enough!

The staff where all lovely and helpful with excellent English skills. The food was varied every night, hot and simply devine! The setting outside the dining room where we ate almost every night was just beautiful. Very romantic.

The rooms where small but very clean and the maids even left a chocolate on our pillows every night. So sweet!

The locatiion is on the top of a hill which made us feel safe. I can understand the hill being a problem for older guests, but we where glad of the walk at night after dinner.

Sorrento is beautiful. You will get an excellent pizza down the drains and the buildings are fantastic!

I can not wait to go back to Sorrento for our anniversary and we will def be staying at the Hilton. 10 out of 10 for everything!

“Amazing Views, Great Room”

Hilton Sorrento Palace

10 Apr 2008

Stayed with teenage son for 2 nights in early April. Room was fantastic, large and well equipped, with a sea view and big balcony. Breakfast was great with amazing views out over the bay. Staff were all pleasant and helpful. Hotel lounge was amazing for a drink while the sun set over the bay. Weather still a bit too cold to make the most of the outside pools, but they looked lovely.

Only grumbles were that the location if you are arriving by train makes an expensive taxi ride the only option to lug your bags up the hill. Also the usual Hilton problem of pricey poor quality food in the restaurant (undercooked ravioli in a sauce which seemed to be melted cheese and little else...)- we only used it because the weather meant going back into Sorrento at night was not an attractive option. The second night we just had snacks in the bar, which was a safer option!

However, that did not put us off what was a great hotel with the most amazing views, lovely staff and great rooms.
